Goldy McJohn was born on 2 May 1945 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was previously married to Sonja Renate Reed, Marcel Croft and Sharon A Wells. He died on 1 August 2017 in the USA.
He was a founding member and keyboardist of Steppenwolf. The group included Canadians Jerry Edmonton on drums, Nick St. Nicholas on bass, and lead vocalist John Kay.
