Members have included Sly Stone, Rose Stone (piano/vocals), Jerry Martin (sax), Greg Errico (drums), Cynthia Robinson (trumpet/vocals; d. of cancer 11/23/2015 at age 69). Freddie Stone, Larry Graham (bass guitar).
Prior to forming the band, Sly Stone was a successful record producer with the million sellers "Come On and Swim" (1963) by Bobby Freeman and later "Laugh Laugh" (1965) and "Just A Little" (1965) by The Beau Brummels.
A groundbreaking multiracial San Francisco Bay Area rock band that formed in 1966 and helped define the Pop music of the late 1960s and early 1970s with a fusion of funk, psychedelia and soul. Their signature hits included "Dance To The Music," Everybody Is a Star", "Stand", "Hot Fun In The Summertime", "(I want To Take You) Higher" and "Everyday "People".
