Bob Woodruff was born on August 18, 1961 in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, USA as Robert Warren Woodruff. He is a writer, known for ABC News: Inauguration 2009 (2009), ABC World News Tonight with David Muir (1953) and Earth 2100 (2009). He has been married to Lee Woodruff since September 11, 1988. They have four children.

29th January 2006, Taji, Iraq received severe head injuries through an explosion, while an embedded reporter with the 4th Infantry Division, and with the Iraqi Army. Also severely injured was his cameraman, Doug Vogt.
Received a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1987 and a BA degree from Colgate University in 1983.
Prior to joining ABC News, Woodruff was a reporter for KCPM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Redding, California from 1991 to 1992; for the CBS affiliate WTVR-TV in Richmond, Va., from 1992 to 1994; and for KNXV-TV, the ABC affiliate in Phoenix, Ariz. from 1994 to 1996. He joined ABC News in 1996, based in the network's Chicago bureau.
His brother is David Woodruff.
