With over 30 years in the Film & TV industry, Rich began his career straight from college with United Artists' Pay-Per-View division creating commercials and promos for the monthly events. When he was not on the road, Rich worked as a crew member for live television programming handling various jobs including Technical Director and Video Engineer. He then took a position with a small boutique agency in Manhattan and Northern New Jersey as a Senior Editor and Director shooting commercials with 35mm film for clients Marvin Windows & Doors, and Thumanns' among many others.
In 2003 Rich relocated to Tampa Bay, FL working for a small production company in St. Petersburg. He was the cinematographer and editor for an award-winning travel documentary of Roatan Honduras. In 2009 he opened SilverBox Studios, providing DIT, editing, and color grading services to bridge the gaps between the set and the edit suite, providing successful workflows for productions large and small. Throughout the next decade, Rich has worked on countless commercials, television shows, music videos, and independent films here in Florida and across the country.
In 2016, Rich was accepted as a member of the Colorist Society International (CSI), a guild representing colorists from around the world. Rich became a regular contributor to the website MixingLight and has produced several online insights about being a DIT as well as giving live presentations about cutting edge technology and successful workflows to industry professionals and organizations like The Media Professionals of Florida and to colleagues at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Las Vegas. Rich enjoys working with students around the Tampa Bay area educating them in all facets of the production industry. Hoping to inspire tomorrow's storytellers.
