Tyler Gooden was born in the United States and from an early age he
developed a relentless passion for stories, images, and the world
beyond. His mother's job as librarian and his exposure to nature and
science provided him with fertile ground to cultivate an overactive
imagination. He spent his days absorbed in great literature, classic
films, comic books, and listening to the legendary storytellers and
scientists in his family. It wasn't long before he was putting his
parents' VHS recorder to use, writing his own stories, and working for
hours on end learning to draw.
His interest in the arts lead him to study at The Experimental Television Center in New York, a three month apprenticeship in the fine arts in Italy, and finally a degree from The Atlanta College of Art in digital media. At twenty-two years old, he made a massive leap into directing for several local market television shows, giving him his first taste of the film industry.
After a year of working in television, Tyler grew restless and traveled back to Europe in need of new adventures and challenges. He quickly became involved in various art projects throughout the continent that eventually lead him to Prague.
The film industry was booming and Tyler jumped in and was immediately recruited, first animating storyboards for Terry Gilliam's The Brothers Grimm, then contributing his visual effects talents on a range of big budget Hollywood features shot in numerous countries.
Throughout this period, Tyler has also directed award winning theatre for The Prague Playhouse, written and directed several short films, helped build visual effects companies, taught storyboard workshops, and lived in four different countries working on an array of exciting and creative projects; most recently completing several American television shows.
