NCIS Season 15 Episode 23 Review: Fallout

So, you're writing the script for NCIS Season 15 Episode 23, which followed directly after a big dramatic episode that saw two leads depart the series. Do you go for a somber reflection, or a more light-hearted tale?

"Fallout" tried to do both at the same time, resulting in a curious mash-up of the depressing and the ridiculous as Team Gibbs mourned the death of Reeves and departure of Abby and investigated the attempted murder of a Navy captain.

Gibbs appeared to spend most of the episode wondering why he was friends with Phil Brooks, who came across as a complete cloudcuckoolander. Their interactions provided much of the comedy.

Despite seeing it coming a mile away, I loved Gibbs' jump-scare double-take at discovering reports of his friend's death had been greatly exaggerated. Then there was this hilarious exchange:

Brooks: You wanna chime in?

Gibbs: Nope. Still waitin’.

Brooks: For?

Gibbs: The reason you are down here!

Chasing The Dragon

Crippled Ho, an illegal immigrant from mainland China sneaks into British-colonized Hong Kong in 1963, a den of corruption, drugs and violence. Working as a thug for a local gang, Ho comes to the attention of corrupt cop Lee Rock. The unlikely duo team up and set about taking over the city’s thriving, dangerous underworld.

Directed by Hong Kong film veteran Wong Jing (God of Gamblers), Chasing the Dragon has been described as a Chinse version of Scarface – and its easy to see why. Both films are something of a period piece: Scarface was set in the opulent 80s when drug dealers became rock stars, whereas Chasing the Dragon is set in the corrupt,

The Flash brought back some familiar faces for another remarkable season 3 episode...

3.16 Into The Speed Force

"You don't like the future, Flash? Change it."

For, I dunno, the third or fourth time this year, I was prepared to write some kind of 500 word variation of "this episode was okay" and then Into The Speed Force decided to shake things up. Again. I've loved this season, and I'm pretty sure that by this time last year the wheels were already starting to come off. There's been no sign of the central premise collapsing this time around and The Flash has gone from strength to strength recently.

But I'll admit, I was sceptical coming in to this one.

The Flash: Grant Gustin Previews Tough Talk From Fallen Foes and Friends, Holds Out Hope for 'WestAllen' Future
Desperate times call for desperate measures, so this Tuesday on The Flash (The CW, 8/7), Barry Allen will again become one with the Speed Force in a bid to rescue Wally, who involuntarily traded places with the long-imprisoned Savitar.

Of course, the first time Barry (accidentally) merged with the Speed Force — in last May’s Kevin Smith-directed “The Runaway Dinosaur” — he was met by the faces of people he trusted and loved. Jay Garrick also makes an appearance to, hopefully, impart some wisdom on the troubled speedster.

The Flash Season 3 Behind The Scenes Photos Feature A Returning Eddie Thawne

More From The Web Click to zoom

We recently learned that Rick Cosnett is returning to The Flash in season 3, and while details on what exactly he’ll be getting up to are unknown, the actor is already shooting his scenes – as evidenced by the images below. As you can see, they don’t reveal much at all, but it appears as if we can expect to see Eddie interacting with a lot of familiar faces.

Killed off in the season 1 finale when he shot himself in order to wipe the Reverse-Flash (his descendant) from history, it’s possible that the villain’s resurrection due to the events of Flashpoint have somehow led to Eddie’s return. Then again, this may just be a flashback or more time travel shenanigans. Time will tell.

Extended Promo For The Flash Midseason Premiere Arrives

Aside from having the opportunity to join Batman in a sure to be epic comic book team-up this spring, the immediate future for The Flash looks to be every bit as intense as it is exciting. Thanks to this newly released extended promo, counting down the seven remaining days until the midseason premiere, “Borrowing Problems from the Future,” just got even harder.

While we await the return of Rick Cosnett, we’ll turn out attention to Barry Allen attempting to avert the brutal murder of his beloved Iris West at the hands of Savitar that’s set to occur several months in the future. I think Barry’s obsession with changing the past has now been eclipsed by his desire to shape the future, which may very well be the moral of season 3. In other words, so many of us may focus on our past, which we have no ability to change,

When “The Flash” returns for its third season on Jan. 24, will Eddie Thawne come to Iris’ rescue and save her from a tragic end? Rick Cosnett Confirms Return To The Flash Season 3 As Eddie Thawne

Well, this is unexpected! As you can see below, Rick Cosnett has confirmed that he's coming back to The Flash, but who will he be playing? In most shows, it would be logical to assume that he'll just reprise the role of Eddie Thawne in a flashback, but in this series, there are a number of possibilities. It could be that we're going to meet an alternate Earth version of Eddie or that some sort of time travel shenanigans will be involved, but it's hard to tell from this Tweet whether it's a one-off appearance or something more permanent. For some time, though, fans have wanted to see Eddie back in The Flash. Could it be that Eddie is actually Savitar? His body was pulled into that portal in the season one finale... Ok, hate to tease you but now I can say it: I'm coming back on #TheFlash Photo credit @HarveyHouseP @SpencerAHarvey @lloydharvey pic.

Rick Cosnett announces his return to The Flash

It looks like Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond isn’t the only season one character we’ll be welcoming back The Flash, with Rick Cosnett announcing on Twitter that he’ll be returning to the show.

Cosnett played Detective Eddie Thawne in the first season of The Flash, but died in the season finale as Eddie sacrificed himself in order to defeat his evil descendant Eobard Thawne.

As yet, there’s no word on how exactly he’ll return, but the Arrowverse has plenty of expertise in bringing characters back from the dead, and between time travel, alternate Earths and flashbacks, there’s certainly a number of options.

Rick Cosnett To Return To The Flash

With parallel universes and alternate timelines now being the norm on The Flash, it comes as no surprise that characters who have been killed off have made their return. Case in point: Multiple versions of Harrison Wells being brought to life as Tom Cavanagh continues to flex his acting muscles.

Aside from Black Flash, you can look forward to seeing Rick Cosnett return in some capacity, although what that may be remains unknown at this point. After heroically sacrificing himself in the season 1 finale, he popped up a few times over the course of the show’s sophomore year, most notably in a dream sequence and when Barry Allen decided to go back in time a year (as if we shouldn’t have seen Flashpoint coming).

Not being one to divulge details, Cosnett took to Twitter to confirm his comeback.
