A seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in Photography, Film/Video, Live Television Production and Studio Management. Whitney Padgett found success at an early age, selling his art to high profile clients like Michael Jackson, Joel Silver and Ice T. This success helped him secure a 2-year apprenticeship with special effects artists and lead sculptor Kent Jones (Jumanji, Galaxy Quest, Where the Wild Things Are, Godzilla ) followed by 3 years working under film and lighting effects guru, Jon Erland (Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica).
In 2001, Whit entered the music scene as a key camera operator and artistic director, where he was quickly noticed by producer/director, Matthew Levin and Warner Brothers Engineer, Evan Daum. The three formed Captured Live Productions in 2003 where Whitney served as Director of Photography and Art Director. At Captured Live, Whit worked on dozens of projects including Pablo Francisco: Bits and Pieces-Live from Orange County, X: Live in Los Angeles, William Shatner's - Has Been, Pretty, Funny Women (featuring Chelsea Handler), Benise: Inside the Fire and the DirecTv concert series, Heart:Dreamboat Annie Live. After working as Director of Photography in Costa Rica for the wildlife documentary Keepin' it Wild.
Whitney began what would be a 7-year journey documenting the musician Yanni resulting in 6 PBS specials; Yanni:Voices, Yanni:Voices-Live from Acapulco, Yanni:A Living Legacy, Yanni:Live at El Morro and Yanni:World Without Borders and Yanni:Live at the Pyramids: The Dream Concert.
Whit recently teamed up with BiteSize Networks and Media General on the FOX Television syndicated show Hollywood Today Live, the first of its kind direct web to network television production. In addition Whit is serving as Co-Director of Photography on Oprah: Where are They Now for the OWN Network.
