From XYZ Films and Dark Horse Entertainment, Charlie Day (Fool’s Paradise) has been set to star in the dark comedy Kill Me, directed and written by Peter Warren (The Auteur).
The upcoming film is said to be “a gripping, hilarious, and deeply moving murder mystery.”
In Kill Me, Jimmy (Charlie Day) wakes up in a bathtub after having tried to kill himself. Or, at least, that’s what it looks like to his friends and family.
Jimmy is pretty sure he didn’t do it…Maybe. Together with Margot, the 911 operator who took his call, Jimmy sets out on a mission to solve a vitally important whodunit: did someone try to kill him, or are they chasing the specter of depression?
“When we first read Peter Warren’s script, we were impressed with his honest portrayal of depression and mental health, while still delivering a great mystery with plenty of humor.

We already know that Skydance Productions has begun filming on the new Terminator reboot from Alan Taylor and while we've had some casting announced, we knew it wasn't done yet. Today, they've revealed that former Doctor Who Matt Smith has joined the cast in an undisclosed, but important role!
As I said, we still don't know who he'll be playing, but it's supposed to be someone close to John Connor that could potentially have an affect on the future of the franchise as well. Matt Smith fans have been anxious to see what the actor would do next after his turn as the Doctor wrapped up, and now I guess he's moving on to another major Sci-Fi series. From the Press release:

Matt Smith Starring In Terminator: Genesis
Smith’s role in the franchise flick has yet to be announced, though he’s certainly joining a star-studded cast. Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke has been cast as Sarah Connor, while Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke has been cast as John Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger is reprising his role as Terminator, and Jai Courtney will play Kyle Reese.
Alan Taylor is directing the film, which has a screenplay penned by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. Kalogridis and Lussier are also executive producing alongside producers Paul Schwake and Megan Ellison. Davis Ellison and Dana Goldberg.
After wrapping up his stint on Doctor Who, in which Peter Capaldi has filled in as his successor, Smith has only taken on one feature.

The officlal start of production press release for the new Terminator movie lands. But has its name changed?
There may be something to this, there may be not. But it looks as if Paramount may yet be tinkering with the name of the now-filming new Terminator film.
For some time, the film has been known as Terminator: Genesis, but the official start of production press release has now been issued by Skydance and Paramount, and the title of the film is simply Terminator on it.
Of course, it's possible to read too much into that, but the film is now directly referred to as the Terminator reboot. Given the film's apparent ties to Terminator 2, it sounds more like a belated sequel to us at the moment.
Here's the official press release anyway. More on the film as we hear it...

Today, Underworld director Len Wiseman signed on to direct a supernatural sci-fi thriller titled Black Chapter for Skydance Productions. The project, which boasts a script from The Incredible Hulk writer Zak Penn, will focus on an FBI agent “who is drawn into a classified military program that trains its operatives to use paranormal abilities.”
Though the Hellboy series (among others) utilized a similar-sounding set-up, the sky’s really the limit for where Penn and Wiseman (who collaborated with Penn on the original story) can take Black Chapter.
Paul Schwake will executive produce for Skydance Productions, while David Bernardi will executive produce for Wiseman’s Sketch Films. Wiseman will produce alongside David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance Productions. Of the project, Ellison said:

If I had a paranormal ability, it would be to be able to eat pizza and never gain weight. Still, as cool as that would be, Underworld director Len Wiseman has something a lot cooler in mind for his new movie, Black Chapter.
According to Variety, Wiseman has come on board to helm the supernatural thriller, which will be produced and co-financed by Skydance Productions.
Zak Penn (The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk) wrote the script based on a story by Wiseman and Penn. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will produce for Skydance Productions, and Wiseman will produce through his Sketch Films production. According to Deadline, Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie will write and direct Star Blazers, a live-action adaptation of the 1970s anime TV series which was actually itself an American adaptation of the Japanese anime, Space Battleship Yamato I (1974), II (1978), and III (1980). It seems Skydance Productions are keen to hatch a new franchise from yet another take of humanities' struggle against alien invaders, who have all but annihilated Earth's population. McQuarrie, Josh Klein, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will produce, and Shouji Nizhizaki and Paul Schwake will be exec producers. Here is an overview of the three seasons of the anime courtesy of Wikipedia. Star Blazers consists of three television seasons. Each is an English-language adaption of its Japanese Space Battleship Yamato counterpart. Exclusive: Skydance Productions has set Christopher McQuarrie to write and direct Star Blazers, the live-action adaptation of the space-set 1970s anime TV series also known as Space Battleship Yamato. McQuarrie, Josh C. Kline, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will produce, and Shouji Nizhizaki and Paul Schwake will be exec producers. Skydance had set McQuarrie to write back when it acquired the series in 2011. In the futuristic Star Blazers, Earth’s atmosphere has been obliterated by a distant alien race, and the survivors have one year before radiation will reach their underground refuge and wipe out the human race. The survivors get a shot of hope in the form of alien technology that can deliver a small crew across the universe and back with the means to stave off extinction. The intention is to hatch a franchise from a series that was ahead of its time, coming before Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica.
