Lit Managers Join New Wave Entertainment

Literary managers Mike Goldberg and Josh Adler have joined management/production company New Wave Entertainment. The duo comes from Roar Management and reps such writers as: Chris Baldi (What Would Kenny Do?), Ashley Bradley (Childhood Heroes), Chris Bullett (Isolation), Tony Giglio (Death Race 2 & 3), Gabriel Snyder & Mike Alber (Untitled Air Traffic Controllers project at Spike), Gary Spinelli (Stash House), Jaime Turner (Fox's Lie To Me), Andy Black (Disney Xd's Aaron Stone), Ryan Levin (Disney Xd's I’m In The Band), Victor Garcia (Return To House On Haunted Hill). Before Roar, Goldberg and Adler had their own lit management company Abstract Entertainment. The two began their careers together at Paramount Classics in marketing and acquisitions.

Gale Anne Hurd, CEO of Valhalla Motion Pictures, is looking to develop The Nameless, a spec script from writer Chris Billett.

Anne Hurd, Arsenal fun, said about the spec for her first move since the success of AMC’s zombie series The Walking Dead (2010):

I love that it’s character driven. That is very important to me. And secondly, I’m attracted to material about ordinary people who are facing extraordinary circumstances who find the strength within them to fight against impossible odds.”

The Nameless, defined as a modern day Western, is set in a high-threat environment operated by the U.S. Marshal’s Federal Witness Protection Program (Witsec), arranging new identities for approved applicants. After the area’s location has been compromised, more idealistic marshal confronted with town’s inhabitants against assassin squad determined to execute the government’s key witness to the crime in the approaching trial.

The story is set in a top-secret facility operated by the U.S. Marshal's Federal Witness Protection Program housing witnesses awaiting new identities.

When the area's location is compromised, an idealistic marshal and the town's inhabitants take a stand against a team of assassins determined to execute the key witness in an upcoming trial. The tone is described as a "modern-day Western" in the action-thriller mold.

Valhalla will develop and produce the feature and will likely seek independent financing.

Prolific producer Gale Anne Hurd ( The Terminator , The Incredible Hulk ) is looking to develop a spec script from writer Chris Billett, says The Hollywood Reporter . The storyline, described as a modern day Western, is said to involve a secret Witness Protection Program facility that comes under attack by assassins and which must be defended by the citizens of the local town. The aim for the project is, at the moment, to go after independent funding through Hurd's Valhalla Pictures, though the producer doesn't entirely rule out studio involvement. Billett is responsible for the screenplays to the indie films Unrest , Callous and, most recently, Isolation . He is also, per his official site, developing a crime drama for television.

Making the rounds online is the promo trailer for Boogeyman director Stephen T. Kay's Isolation. The film stars Eva Amurri (Susan Sarandon's daughter) as a medical student who awakens in a hospital isolation room having been exposed to an unknown disease, desperately ill and with no recollection of how she got there. It was originally pegged as a new spin on the zombie genre, while we've confirmed that's Not the case at all. In fact, Isolation is a thriller with what we're told is "a revenge factor." David Harbour, Joshua Close, Gregg Henry also star. Chris Billett penned the screenplay and Kay is also the director of Get Carter and HBO's "Sons of Anarch."
