    • Trivia
Was home schooled for most of his life. He took high school courses by correspondence, and finished his requirements so early that he graduated at age 15. He and his parents agreed that he was too young for college, so he passed the time by writing his now best-selling novels, Eragon and Eldest. Eragon was self-published by his parents, but author Carl Hiassen's stepson read it and brought it to the attention of a major publisher.
