Seong Hun Kim
Kim Seong-hun received critical and commercial acclaim with A HARD DAY (2014). The film premiered at the Directors' Fortnight sidebar of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival where it drew unanimously positive reviews. Moreover, it gained international recognition and praise from critics and audiences at several major festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, and AFI Festival. A HARD DAY went on to receive numerous prestigious awards and nominations locally: Kim won Best Director at the 51st Grand Bell Awards, the 1st Korean Film Producers Association Awards, the 6th KOFRA Film Awards, the 20th Chunsa Film Art Awards and 51st Baeksang Arts Awards, as well as Best Screenplay at the 15th Busan Film Critics' Awards and 35th Blue Dragon Film Awards. His next film, THE TUNNEL (2016) was also a box office success and earned lead actor Ha Jung Woo the Best Actor Prize at the 22nd Chunsa Film Awards. In 2019, Director Kim teamed up with Netflix to helm its big-budget zombie mystery drama, KINGDOM, which became a global success, and Season 2 set to air in March 2020. Director Kim is currently shooting KIDNAP (2020) with actor Ha Jung Woo in Morocco.
