Lannette was involved in music and dance from a young age, performing in many shows as a dancer and a singer. A highlight for her was when she danced in the David Foster Celebrity Softball Game. In addition to singing and dancing, Lannette completed her grade 8 level of piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music with first class honours.

Lannette moved from Victoria to Vancouver in 1993 and expanded her musical theatre experience by performing in shows such as The King and I, Lucky Stiff, Honk! and many others.
