In Theaters: 'Snow White And The Huntsman,' 'Piranha 3Dd,' 'A Cat In Paris' & More

Another Memorial Day weekend come and gone, and here we are: summer has begun. Temperatures are rising all over the place, and you might have trouble finding comfort, let alone sleep, with all the humidity. You could make like the olden days and take to the air-conditioned cinema houses to beat the heat. With fairy tales, horror flicks, historical epics and more, there’s plenty of material to keep you in that ice-cold seat, eyes glued to the screen. Take note, however: the gore/scare factor is high this week; these movies probably won’t help you sleep at night.

The second Snow White flick of the year hits theaters this weekend, offering a much darker, gothic take on the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale than its predecessor. Rupert Sanders helms “Snow White and the Huntsman,” in which the titular Snow White (Kristen Stewart) and Hunky Hunter (Chris Hemsworth) join forces

Chuck: TV Show Renewed for Season Four by NBC

To not much surprise, NBC has decided to renew Chuck for a fourth season. Despite sagging ratings, it's still one of the network's best performing hour-long shows in the targeted demo.

Chuck follows a geeky electronics store employee (Zachary Levi) whose life is turned upside down when a database of top secret government information is downloaded into his brain. The series cast includes Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay, and Julia Ling.

This year, the ratings started out with a 2.9 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 7.45 million viewers. That's good, especially for NBC. Unfortunately, they've fallen quite a bit over the season. This week's episode of Chuck hit a new low with 5.324 million viewers and an unfortunately consistent 1.9 rating in the demo.

'Chuck' - 'Chuck vs the Tooth' Recap

'Chuck' - 'Chuck vs the Tooth' Recap

(S03E16) This was an episode that was chock full of material and a lot of guest stars. We had Shaw, played by Brandon Routh (proving that death doesn't necessarily stop a returning guest star, kind of like with 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'). We also had Julia Ling return as Anna Wu (read her TV Squad interview here) as well as former time-traveling scientist and cab driver Christopher Lloyd as a C.I.A. psychiatrist.

The episode's problem was that it was a bit of a mish-mosh with the guest stars not getting any appreciable amount of screen time (well, maybe Christopher Lloyd, but certainly not the other two).

Julia Ling Returns To Chuck With Pole Dancing Skills

  • ScifiMafia
Tonight’s episode of NBC’s “Chuck” will see the return of a familiar hottie. Julia Ling, who played Anna Wu, will reprise her role as the Buy More hottie and former love interest of Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez). Anna comes back to Burbank after leaving Morgan for a Benihama chef. Check out this interview with Ling where she reveals some interesting things about her character:

Q: Julia, it’s so good to have you back! So where has Anna been, what has she been up to…?

A: Anna’s been in Hawaii, doing inappropriate things with the Benihana chef which shall not be discussed. [Laughs]

Q: Does she still possess her unique sense of style?

A: She’s got this sexy tan going, so she comes back with that – a really awesome tan.

Q: Is Morgan chilly to her? And if so, is he a fast thaw?

A: She’s

Julia Ling Talks About Her Return to 'Chuck'

On Monday, May 10, 'Chuck' fans will get a pleasant surprise when one of the prettiest Nerd-Herders of all time, Anna Wu, returns to the Burbank Buy More to tie up some loose ends.

When last seen, Anna had taken a leap of faith and moved to Hawaii with Morgan so he could follow his dream of being a Benihana chef. When Morgan returned to California at the beginning of this season, Anna -- alas -- was not with him.

Actress Julia Ling spoke with TV Squad about her guest turn, and what Anna's got on her mind. She even shared her dream for a future film role with her idol. Who is her idol, you wonder? Well, let's just say he's someone who would make her day.

How is Anna returning to 'Chuck'?

Anna is coming back from Hawaii. She's got the whole sexy tan going.

Scoop: I spy a 'Chuck' pickup!

Scoop: I spy a 'Chuck' pickup!
Rather, my spies spy a Chuck pickup. And really, isn’t that better?

Multiple sources confirm that NBC is expected to do the right thing and renew the action comedy for a fourth season. Per one insider, the show has thus far figured into all of the network’s preliminary plans for its May 17 upfront presentation.

Although a 13-episode pickup is the most likely scenario, my moles suggest that there’s also chance the show could be given a full season order.

An NBC rep had no comment. Series creator Josh Schwartz, meanwhile, says not to believe the hype. Renewal?

Chuck: Captain Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) on the Season (or Series) Finale

Just like last year, it looks like the fate of Chuck on NBC is going to come down to the wire. If the worst happens, will fans be satisfied with the last episode?

Chuck follows a geeky electronics store employee (Zachary Levi) whose life is turned upside down when a database of top secret government information is downloaded into his brain. The series cast includes Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay, and Julia Ling.

This season, the ratings started out strong (for NBC) with a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and 7.45 million viewers. Unfortunately, they've fallen quite a bit and hit a low of a 1.9 in the demo and 5.46 million. While the early numbers would have assured Chuck a third season, the later numbers put that possibility into

'Chuck Vs. Honeymooner' Preview: Return of Anna and Steve

After a "game-changing" episode this week, "Chuck" will be back with a more laid back episode on April 26. Called "Chuck Versus the Honeymooner", it follows Chuck and Sarah who ride on the same train as the Basque terrorist Juan Diaz Arnaldo.

"Most of Episode 14 is set on a train which is really neat. I'm a huge fan of 'The Lady Vanishes'," creator Chris Fedak told Chicago Tribune. "Or any movies set on a train in truth. That was a lot of fun to make and it's one of my favorite episodes of the season."

There will also be the reappearance of Julia Ling and Scott Bakula as Morgan's ex Anna Wu and Chuck's dad Steve Bartowski respectively in the back six episodes. Fedak said "Honeymooner" is the starting point of a whole new chapter in the series that the last six episodes in the season will "almost

Chuck The Complete Second Season Blu-ray Review

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up and be a secret agent overnight? As the titular lead of the television show Chuck, Chuck Bartowski would probably say it’s not so nice, but he’s had his fair share of adventure and lady love.

For those who need a download of information on the series, brace yourselves. Chuck works for the Nerd Herd department of a Burbank Buy More store, an ode to Best Buy’s Geek Squad (which, by the way, does have a Burbank location). Chuck had a simple life until he opens an email sent from his former college roommate and the whole of the United States’ secret information gets downloaded directly into his brain. More after the jump.

Chuck doesn’t have immediate control of the information. It presents itself on a need to know basis; Chuck sees a person, place or thing that triggers

Photos – The Deep End 1.03 "To Have and to Hold"

So how are you guys liking The Deep End? I'm kind of digging it, despite how grossly unrealistic it is about putting a first year law student as second-chair in some big class action suit (which happened in the last episode). Regardless of that, I'm just kind of happy to be seeing Billy Zane again. ABC has released a few promo photos for the February 4 episode, along with a synopsis, which you can view below.

Departures DVD - Review

The fact that this film beat out Waltz with Bashir and The Class at last year’s Academy Awards should be an indication of how good Departures really is. Not saying it should be a sticker on its box cover but it is a compelling fact on top of the one that this is really that good.

For those who need the CliffsNotes version of the story it is thus: A talented musician/father, Daigo (Masahiro Motoki), takes solace in his music as a professional cellist.
