Lloyd Bryan Molander is an American Sr. Entertainment Executive, Executive Producer, and Filmmaker. Lloyd has held the position of Executive Producer for domestic and international channels and has Executive Produced over fifteen hundred hours of Television and several notable and award-winning feature and documentary films. Lloyd has lead programming and production at both private and public companies and has successfully managed budgets upwards of 20 million per year.
Lloyd has won over 16 Telly Awards, 2 Aurora Awards, and 3 Emmy Nominations, as well as, one company win during his tenure. Further, Lloyd has multiple "official selection" accolades and wins at many prestigious film festivals, including The Hollywood Film Festival and Big Sky International Film Festival and, Banff Mountain Film Festival. Lloyd holds a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and has earned a Masters Degree in Business Management from N.U. and a B.S. from San Diego State University. His studies abroad include the Inns of Court School of Law London, England, as Summer Barrister Pupilage, and Salzburg University, Austro-American Institute of Education, Salzburg, Austria, Pepperdine University School of Law, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and postgraduate studies at UCLA in Film Producing. Lloyd is also an adjunct Professor of Business and Law at both, William Patterson University and Southern New Hampshire University.
Lloyd's executive positions include his recent tenure as Executive Producer and Chief Content Officer at Edge TV and he is also credited as Co-founder there. Previously, Lloyd was the Senior Executive in charge of Programming and Production for the Outdoor Channel (SVP Level). Whilst there, his efforts dramatically increased ratings, overhauled the on-air look, and revamped quality control, all while coming in under budget. His duties involved overseeing the production of over 100 shows, including over 35 originals and time-buys. His expertise in integrating advertisers organically changed the way the channel had done business previously and is still in practice at the channel today. Lloyd landed and was integral in creating new must-watch tent pole programming, including "Duck Commander" with Robertson Family, "Wild and Raw" with Lone Survivors' Marcus Luttrell, two NASCAR shows, and The very first TV show for the Boy Scouts of America "Scouting for Adventure".
Lloyd was formerly the Chief Operating Officer for Extreme Group, USA, and is credited as a Co-Founder of the Extreme Sports Channel, which is now in over 55 countries and owned by AMC Networks International. He is still involved as a Shareholder in the original Group. Lloyd's endeavors led directly to the creation of Fox's Fuel Channel (Fox Sports 2), and he had an essential role on the launch team from day one; bringing in over 200 hours of programming to the channel. He was later hired as a Senior Consultant and Executive Producer.
Lloyd has also served as a Senior Executive at Havoc TV, Ripe TV, Bennett Productions, and Planet X Studios and has served as a partner with Fusion Entertainment. Lloyd is an active producer and his shows have run on all major networks, as well as cable, and now in OTT too. He has produced for ABC, NBC, CBS, Discovery, Fox Sports, ESPN, Fuel TV, NBC Sports, Fuse, MTV, Rush HD, HDTV, Showtime, USA Network, and more.
As a filmmaker, Lloyd has been Executive Producer on several feature and documentary films including the acclaimed Do You Dream in Color, Dearly Departed Volumes I and II, Six Degrees of Helter Skelter, Pipe, Rising Tides and Remember Us. His feature films also include the award-winning drama, The Outside and comedy, Don't Suck, Left and Loose in the Lot, and Sex Sound and Silence. Lloyd is an active member of the Producers Guild of America, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, American Film Institute, and was on the Board of the Tahoe / Reno International Film Festival as Head of the Adventure Film Categories. Lloyd is married to Jennifer Ellis Molander (a Director of The Leon Levey Foundation) and Lloyd has one daughter Lauren Brooke who is a recent graduate of SMU and notable fashion Intrepreneur. Lloyd is an outdoorsman, loves academia and philanthropy. Lloyd and Jennifer recently started Monkey Rock Entertainment, a for-cause film company that will be producing films that make a difference in the world.
