Netflix’s ‘Big Mouth’ Season 2 Adds Gina Rodriguez & David Thewlis to the Shame Spiral

One of the most unabashed, earnest, and hilarious explorations of the awkwardness of adolescence comes courtesy of the animated Netflix comedy series Big Mouth. Season 1 of Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg's unapologetic revisit to their teenage years laid bare some of the deepest-held and most-embarrassing questions kids have during puberty and it did so in an outrageously funny way. Season 2 looks to continue that trend with returning players and new additions, like Gina Rodriguez and David Thewlis, with the latter playing a "Shame Wizard", of course. Season 2 of Big Mouth returns to Netflix sometime …

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Cast and Crew Supported Stephanie Beatriz When She Shut Down Sexism On Set

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Cast and Crew Supported Stephanie Beatriz When She Shut Down Sexism On Set
It may come as no surprise that “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actress Stephanie Beatriz has no trouble speaking up when a man’s behavior crosses a line. In a recent interview with Vulture, the actress and Lgbtq advocate shared an anecdote that will sound all too familiar to many women in Hollywood, about an older male actor who was calling everyone “honey,” “babe,” and “baby” on set. (Beatriz did not share the actor’s name). Observing him interacting with the other women on set, Beatriz remembers wishing he would call her a name just so she would have a chance to respond.

“Sure enough once we hit set, he did speak to me that way, and I said, ‘I’d really prefer it if you called me by my name.’ And he was like, ‘All right, sweetie.’ And then I stopped and said, ‘No. I am actually serious. I am not sweetie.

These stars teamed up with the international charity known as One, to try and create meaningful change for women in the workforce. Take a look at the first half of this open letter below.

"Dear World leaders, We're putting you on notice. For 130 million girls without an education. For one billion women without access to a bank account. For 39,000 girls who became child brides today. For women everywhere paid less than a man for the same work. There is nowhere on earth where women have the same opportunities as men, but the gender gap is wider for women living in poverty. Gina Rodriguez And David Thewlis Join Pubescent Animated Comedy ‘Big Mouth’

Netflix’s Big Mouth has added two noted actors to join the hormonally driven — and hilariously inappropriate — animated comedy. ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season Finale Was Just ‘Toit’ Enough to Serve as Series Finale Too (Commentary)

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season Finale Was Just ‘Toit’ Enough to Serve as Series Finale Too (Commentary)
(Spoiler alert: Please do not read ahead unless you’ve seen “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”s Season 5 finale, “Jake and Amy.”)

No one is happier than us that “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was picked up for a sixth season by NBC. Nobody. But if (and we do mean only if) the comedy hadn’t been revived just 24 hours after being canceled by its current network, Fox, earlier this month, we would have survived because Dan Goor & Co did such a great job with the Season 5 finale.

“Nine-Nine” aired its fifth-year closer, “Jake and Amy,” Sunday night, which centered around the titular couple’s nups — the toitest you’ve ever seen. Yes, going out with a wedding would have been a super cliche move, and Goor said in recent interviews that it was not his plan for how to end it all (as he was hoping against hope the show would be renewed). But the

First and foremost, Jake and Amy tied the knot in a last-minute ceremony (after a bomb scare derailed their wedding). The second milestone was in regards to the life of the show itself; the episode doubled as the Golden Globe-winning comedy’s last broadcast on Fox, before moving to NBC in 2019.

On Friday, TVLine got on the phone with co-creator Dan Goor, who spoke about the series’ cancellation and subsequent “rebirth,” the Peraltiago wedding, Capt. Holt’s potential promotion and more.

Nick Kroll (‘Big Mouth’) on the show’s crazy situations: Many of them actually happened! [Exclusive Video Interview]
Nick Kroll is very blunt about where the crazy stories on the show “Big Mouth” come from. “The stories come from the experiences of me and [co-creator] Andrew Goldberg, our friends from elementary and middle school or from other writers,” he reveals to us in a recent chat (watch the exclusive video above). “We also had a friend who had sex with a pillow and Andrew actually had an orgasm while dancing with a girl.”

Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will finally make an honest couple out of Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) in the season 5 finale, which will see the couple tie the knot in the toitest of nups.

But before the police badge-wearing lovebirds say “I do” on Sunday’s episode, the (for now) Fox comedy thought you should relive Jake and Amy’s entire story “romantic style.” And in 99 seconds, of course.

In the clip above, you’ll see the two go from being co-workers forced into a date because of a bet, to flirting on a rooftop, to their first kiss, to deciding not to have sex right away, to totally breaking that rule, to, well, you’ll see.

CW Upfront: 5 Takeaways from the Network’s (Very Short) Presentation to Advertisers

As usual, The CW batted last during upfront week, showing off its new slate Thursday morning at the New York City Center.

But network president Mark Pedowitz ended this week-long slog of presentations for ad buyers (and reporters) with the best present possible gift: An upfront that lasted under an hour. The brief show featured trailers for new series “All American,” “In the Dark” and their reboots for “Charmed” and “Roswell,” as well as a bit of news for its “Arrow-verse” (more on that below), but sadly no Gina Rodriguez.
