Macaulay Culkin Doesn’t Watch ‘Home Alone’ During Christmas, Goes Out Less to Avoid Being Recognized
Macaulay Culkin just wants to be left alone during the Christmas holiday season. The 37-year-old actor revealed during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that he refuses to watch “Home Alone” during Christmas and finds it both “flattering and creepy” when people ask to watch his 1990 family comedy with him.

“I don’t really watch them all that often,” Culkin said, replying, “No, not really” when asked if he watches the holiday classic on Christmas like many fans do each year. “It’s my season….It’s Macaulay season. I try to go out less and less around that time of year.”

Culkin admitted he can no longer watch the film like many do with an endearing outlook. He said he avoids going out a lot during the Christmas season because he gets recognized more than usual and is often asked to make his character’s legendary screaming face.

Blu-ray Review: Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon Collector’s Edition

  • DailyDead
Having only just gotten into collecting Blu-rays within the last couple of years, I’ve become interested in the different ways some of these releases catch our attention as horror fans. Sometimes we get those movies that we’ve always loved and jump on immediately. Other times, we get the obscure films that might wind up being a hidden gem. And then there are those releases that remind us to revisit the movies we haven’t seen in years. Such was the case for me and the 2006 meta-slasher Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. I remember seeing the movie within a year or so of its release, enjoying it, but never really feeling the need for a rewatch until Scream Factory announced their Collector’s Edition.

Blending elements of meta-horror, mockumentary, and straight slasher, Behind the Mask follows journalist Taylor Gentry (Angela Goethals) and her camera crew Doug

Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Clips & Trailer

Shining a satirical ray of light on the horror genre is nothing new, as a number of films (both indie and mainstream) have done this for a few decades now, but only one (that I know of), Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, states that in its own cinematic world, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger actually existed. Don't believe me? Check out some Blu-ray clips from Scream Factory's Collector's Edition of Scott Glosserman's cult movie before it hits shelves on March 27th.

Kane Hodder Is Game For Another Victor Crowley Film

Although many of you are familiar with Kane Hodder via his portrayal of Jason Voorhees in four of the Friday the 13th films, what you may or may not know is that he’s found much success in recent years thanks to the Hatchet series. And with his latest reprisal of the titular character in Victor Crowley, he’s further cemented himself as one of the more prolific horror icons.

Speaking of which, as lovers of horror, we may have grown accustomed to the idea of sequels more than those of any other genre. Really, it’s just expected at this point, especially when it comes to anything with a recognizable threat/monster as the centerpiece.

Knowing this, I’d have been remiss if I didn’t bring up the subject of Victor Crowley and the prospect of a fifth outing when speaking with Hodder at Astronomicon last weekend, considering

Victor Crowley Review

Ever since “oldies” like Scream entered their “retrospective anniversary articles” phase, slasher cinema has failed to regain control of genre airwaves like those 80’s mainstays of pulp and cultural circumstance. Your still-relevant Friday The 13th or Child’s Play franchises. To that, I’ve always considered Adam Green’s Hatchet an exception to trends. My first taste of Victor Crowley’s bayou legend struck me as – pound for pound – one of the post-2000 era’s gnarliest slasher rebirths. Hatchet II and Hatchet III, two underrated indie continuations, only strengthened my arguments. Count me a ranking axe-wielder in the Hatchet Army, and a continual fan of Green’s work (Frozen chills to the core, Digging Up The Marrow blasts creativity).

Unfortunately, this just makes 2018’s Victor Crowley a bigger disappointment in my eyes.

Parry Shen returns as Andrew – the lone survivor of Hatch III’s massacre – and is duped into returning

Victor Crowley – Review

Review by Mark Longden

Fans of slasher cinema will probably be aware that this is the fourth movie in the “Hatchet” series, written or directed or both by Adam Green. He’s been going for a while, making TV (Fear.Net’s “Holliston”, and a few horror documentary shows) and movies – a handful of thrillers and short films, as well as this.

Hatchet” is a comedy-horror series about Victor Crowley, a deformed fellow who lives in the swamps outside New Orleans, and kills people with a…well, you know. If you’re like me, and this is your first toe dipped into the waters of Mr Green and his cinematic universe, well, I don’t think there’s a lot of backstory to worry about. Large mute monster, completely indestructible, laughs, gore, slasher movies. So let’s get into it!

As you might be able to guess from the name,

Interview: Victor Crowley Writer/Director Adam Green on Making His Most Personal Movie Yet

  • DailyDead
Filmmaker Adam Green braved the haunted waters of the Honey Island Swamp for the fourth film in his Hatchet franchise, and in addition to resurrecting the iconic Kane Hodder character known as Victor Crowley, Green channeled emotions from real-life experiences to make his most personal movie to date. With Victor Crowley coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD platforms beginning February 6th from Dark Sky Films, Daily Dead recently had the pleasure of speaking with Green about getting back behind the camera in the Hatchet franchise, and he also talked about writing the Tommy Jarvis tapes for Friday the 13th: The Game.

This franchise came about from a conversation you had with George Romero about making something for the fans. Before that conversation, did you already know where you wanted to go with the fourth film or was it a surprise to you, too?

Adam Green: It was a surprise to me as well.

You’ll Come To Pieces Over The First Five Minutes Of Victor Crowley

Although many actors have become typecast or mainstays in the horror genre (that’s certainly not a bad thing because it can keep you employed for life), there aren’t as many who can say that they’ve inhabited more than one iconic role. Fortunately for Kane Hodder, the former Jason Voorhees has kept lovers of the macabre entertained in recent years as Victor Crowley in the Hatchet series of films. Granted, the latter is less mainstream than the former, but our point remains valid.

Now, with the release of Victor’s eponymous adventure imminent, the folks at Coming Soon have decided to share the first five minutes from the flick. As we can see, the lovebirds played by Jonah Ray and Kelly Vrooman don’t fare very well, but it’s the cameo made by Tyler Mane that put a smile on my face. As the more knowledgeable among you will know,
