William DeCoff grew up in Danvers, Massachusetts, in the area known as Old Salem Village, which was the site of much of the Salem Witch Hysteria.

At the age of 14, DeCoff was approached in a high school hallway to perform in a TV commercial for the clothing store Anderson Little. Shortly after, he received method acting training from Mr. Rafael Ramirez at The NY Conservatory. Due to his exceptionally muscular physique for a teenager in the 1970s, he won the title of Teenage Mr. Eastern States and placed 5th in his height class at the Teenage Mr. America competition. William also began doing body part modeling for print and television.

At the age of 19, DeCoff began his career as a professional wrestler after receiving training from Walter "Killer Kowalski." He entered the professional wrestling scene and competed across Canada, particularly in Quebec and the maritime provinces. DeCoff also wrestled throughout the United States, primarily in Dallas and the New England states. Additionally, he participated in and won several "Tough Man" contests, which were quite popular at that time.

Known for his incredible stamina and deceptively high degree of physical strength, Decoff won several wrestling titles. However, his lack of physical size held him back, and he became discouraged, leaving the business several times only to return. Wrestling Promoter Fritz Von Erich told William in 1987 that his place was in the booking office, where he could be better utilized, considering his high degree of creativity and promotional instinct. DeCoff spoke to Killer Kowalski by phone later that day. Kowalski agreed with Von Erich. William completed his bookings and left the business days later.

DeCoff served as a police officer from 1990 until his retirement in 2025. He also acted in various indie horror films, which he particularly enjoyed. However, his film and television career faced challenges because he often declined bookings requiring him to be away from home overnight, opting to prioritize time with his family instead.
