New Featurette for Cats Takes a Look Inside the Creepiest Film of 2019

When the first trailer hit for the feature film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic Broadway musical Cats, the people who watched it were like… “Wtf!?”

It certainly has a very strange visual look and style to it and comes off as being super creepy. Having grown up with a dad who is a professional singer, musicals are something that I’m used to and I actually really enjoyed the music of Cats. But the way it’s presented on both stage and film is super weird.

We have a new featurette to share with you today that takes you behind-the-scenes of what is sure to be one of the creepiest films of 2019. It features interviews with the cast and crew as well as new footage of the CGI cats running around.

Cats was adapted for the big screen by Tom Hooper, and the film has an incredible ensemble cast that includes James Corden,

Cats Sneak Peek Goes Behind-the-Scenes of the Feisty Feline Musical
Brace yourselves, as we have a brand new look at director Tom Hooper's Cats. This adaptation of the legendary Broadway musical has garnered a lot of attention ever since the first trailer dropped in July. And rightfully so. We have some of the world's finest actors and performers being turned into cats using groundbreaking digital effects. It's as crazy as it sounds and, as we see in this featurette, everyone is taking it very seriously.

This video comes with a whole lot less so-called "digital fur technology" as it's more of a behind-the-scenes look at how this is all going to come together. We see Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, James Corden and more discussing, in a very serious way, the process of bringing Cats to life. The choreography, without the CGI cat stuff, is impressive, that much is certain. Much like John Hammond with Jurassic Park, they've spared no

2020 Oscar Predictions: Best Supporting Actress (Updated: August 29)

2020 Oscar Predictions: Best Supporting Actress (Updated: August 29)
While the Best Supporting Actress Oscar is often awarded to an ingenue, it can also be a way to reward a more season performer who has been overlooked by the academy in the past. Indeed, that is just what happened at the 2019 Academy Awards when Regina King took home this Oscar for her scene-stealing performance in “If Beale Street Could Talk.” (Scroll down for the most up-to-date 2020 Oscars predictions for Best Supporting Actress.)

While King was clearly a featured player in her picture, two of her rival nominees, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, could easily have submitted themselves in lead for their roles in “The Favourite.” But the studio decided to campaign only their co-star, Olivia Colman, for Best Actress and this proved to be a winning strategy. Stone and Weisz were both Oscar winners already with the former prevailing in lead for “La La Land” in 2017 and the latter

Oscars 2020: Best Visual Effects Predictions

Oscars 2020: Best Visual Effects Predictions
This season’s VFX Oscar race features bold, innovative animation, led by Jon Favreau’s “The Lion King,” the all-cg photoreal breakthrough by Mpc Film, Ang Lee’s “Gemini Man” (October 11), which boasts Weta Digital’s most fully convincing digital human with Junior, the younger clone of Will Smith’s aging assassin, and Ilm’s digital de-aging experiment with Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci in Martin Scorsese’s highly anticipated gangster epic, “The Irishman.”

Additionally, Weta took facial capture to the next level with “Alita: Battle Angel,” the manga-inspired sci-fi adventure directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau, while Tom Hooper’s adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, “Cats” (December 20), delivers digital fur for its cast of felines, which has a built-in creep factor to overcome, based on negative reaction to the first trailer.

But “The Lion King” blockbuster’s tactile photo-realism

Music director Rickey Minor (‘Oscars’ and ‘Aretha!’) thinks he should compete against himself ‘as often as possible’ [Exclusive Video Interview]
Music director Rickey Minor won his first Emmy competing against himself, so he thinks it’s a good sign that he’s double nominated again. “I should try to be against myself as often as possible,” he jokes. This year he’s contending for his work on “Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul” and “The Oscars.” Watch our exclusive video interview with him above.

“Aretha!” pays tribute to late soul singer Aretha Franklin, who Minor believes was “the greatest voice of our generation, and arguably of all time.” Every song she sang “meant something, so to try to recreate or create moments that were so organic for her” was “a challenge.” Having worked with her for over 20 years, it was “a huge honor” to take part in the special alongside some of today’s biggest artists, including Kelly Clarkson, Common,

Cats Movie Goes Full Horror with the Stephen King Mashup Trailer It Deserves

Cats Movie Goes Full Horror with the Stephen King Mashup Trailer It Deserves
Someone has made the Cats trailer even more horrifying than it already was. The new take on the trailer transforms it into a Stephen King movie and it's done way too well. The first trailer for Tom Hooper's big screen adaptation landed during the mania of this year's San Diego Comic-Con and people took notice as the human/feline hybrids took over the superhero conversation for a moment and seriously freaked some people out in a major way. With that being said, the video below is even creepier than the original trailer, so consider yourself warned.

Most of the latest horror version of the Cats trailer is made up from the recent remake of Stephen King's Pet Sematary. The footage of both movies works seamlessly as they show terrifying shots of the cats next to the feline wooden statues from the remake. A lot of time and effort went into making this mashup,

There Is a School That Teaches Humans How to Move Like Cats, and Idris Elba Went There

There Is a School That Teaches Humans How to Move Like Cats, and Idris Elba Went There
It's safe to say we weren't the only ones who found the Cats trailer both confusing and slightly terrifying There are countless celebrities starring in the remake, including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, and Idris Elba. But playing a cat isn't as easy at it sounds, and turns out, the cast had to go to cat school.

Elba stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to chat about his current projects, and while Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw got a mention - mostly about costars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham teasing him on set for playing Macavity - most of the conversation revolved around Cats. When asked what the movie was about, it took Elba a hot minute to even explain the storyline: "I guess it's about a cat," he said, prompting comments on YouTube like "Petition to make the Cats official tagline be 'Does anyone know what the story is?

Even ‘Cats’ Star Idris Elba Can’t Really Explain What ‘Cats’ Is About

The trailer for Universal’s holiday musical tentpole “Cats” broke the internet thanks to the digital fur that transforms the human cast into feline characters. If you weren’t reacting in horror to the look of the film, you were probably asking yourself what “Cats” is even about. Well, asking “Cats” supporting actor Idris Elba won’t help you too much. During his appearance on “The Late Show” to promote “Hobbs & Shaw,” Elba was asked to explain the plot of “Cats” by host Stephen Colbert.

“Ah, wow,” Idris said. “What a way to throw me under the bus there! It’s a classic. It’s a big musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I guess it’s about a cat? How am I doing?”

After struggling to find the words, Elba slowly took Colbert through a basic explanation of the musical’s narrative: “It’s one cat’s journey toward what is essentially cat heaven.

Rebel Wilson Says She 'Loved the Reaction' to Cats Trailer: 'It Was a Bit Polarizing'

Rebel Wilson Says She 'Loved the Reaction' to Cats Trailer: 'It Was a Bit Polarizing'
Rebel Wilson wasn’t too bothered by the mixed reactions to the Cats trailer that dropped earlier this month.

The actress, 39, spoke to Cosmopolitan in which she spoke about the upcoming movie in which she stars as the Jellicle cat Jennyanydots.

“When the trailer came out, the response was pretty massive,” Wilson said. “There’s some people who were like, ‘Oh my God’ because it is brand-new technology that’s CGI. I think people get confused because it’s essentially a dance movie in a lot of ways.”

She continued, “So it really is all our own bodies. And yes,

Even Cats Star Idris Elba Doesn't Understand The Plot of Cats

It featured fur-ocious costumes, elaborate makeup, an oddly sexual aura—per the Internet—and nearly every A-lister under the sun, including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Judi Dench and James Corden among others. But what exactly is this hotly-anticipated movie about? Well, as it turns out, you're not alone in your questioning. Not even Elba is 100 percent certain.
