Albert M. Chan was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is an actor and writer, known for Gotham (2014), Patriots Day (2016) and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009).

Attended graduate school at MIT to study engineering.
He was bruised for a week after repeatedly being thrown against lockers while filming a scene for Number Two Pencil (2005).
He was immediately offered the role of Wang Long in Overserved (2004) after causing director Joseph Gatto to break out in hysterical laughter during his audition.
His rant to his prostitutes in Chinese in Brotherhood (2006) was improvised. Because no one else on set understood Chinese, director/writer Henry Bromell had to trust the contents of his rant were appropriate for the scene.
Director/writer Rod Lurie cast him as a Blackjack Dealer in I'm Paige Wilson (2007) in part because he brought his own card dealing equipment to the audition.
Taught himself how to deal blackjack for 21 (2008), but was instead cast two weeks later as a blackjack dealer in I'm Paige Wilson (2007).
As a consequence of both his academic and acting careers, he has an Erdos-Bacon number of 4. He co-authored a peer-reviewed paper on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), giving him an Erdos number of 3. He was cast alongside Kevin Bacon in Patriots Day (2016), giving him a Bacon number of 1.
