Shilpi Gupta is an Emmy award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. Her debut film, When the Storm Came - a haunting tale of survival of a harrowing mass rape in Kashmir - premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize, and awards at festivals across the country, finally short-listing for the 2005 Academy Awards. Shilpi has since worked for a wide variety of productions in a number of capacities from producing and writing comedies to directing documentaries, but her forte is as a nonfiction producer/editor.
Shilpi's work has continued to earn countless awards, and has been nominated for Emmys each year for nearly the past decade. From Netflix to VICE, she has been nicknamed "the Wolf" for her ability to fix things, and a "unicorn" for her magical ability to turn hours of seemingly unusable footage into a scene of gold.
