Lyn Pierce was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, grew up in Atlanta,
Georgia, and is now a resident of Austin, Texas. She has performed with
several local theater companies as well as participating in a number of
student and independent film projects. In addition, she has recently
begun appearing with the Blue Lapis Light aerial dance troupe
(http://www.bluelapislight.org) as a rappeller.
Author or co-author of nearly a dozen scholarly papers since 1995 (as
of late 2004). Subjects include quorum systems, semantic reasoning and
machine learning.
Folk singer, plays acoustic guitar.
Has participated in amateur theatre since the early 1980s.

Recipient of numerous academic honors, including Motorola Silver Quill
Award (twice), National Science Foundation fellowship, the Upsilon Pi
Epsilon computer science honor society, and the Phi Kappa Phi honor
