Biography: A Journey of Strength, Advocacy, and Empowerment
My life's journey has been one of remarkable resilience and unwavering determination. As a survivor and a mother to a special needs miracle child, I have faced challenges that tested my spirit, but they also ignited a passion within me to make a difference in the lives of others.
For over 19 years, I have dedicated myself to educating and empowering the special needs community and survivors of domestic violence. Through countless hours of self-education and hands-on experience, I have become a beacon of light for those who have known true darkness. Guided by deep empathy and understanding, I have worked tirelessly to bring hope, support, and resources to those who were once without a voice.
My education journey has been extensive. I have acquired a doctorate, degrees, and certifications that reflect my commitment to excellence and providing the best possible care and assistance. I have equipped myself with a diverse skill set better to serve those with special needs and survivors of abuse. Additionally, my certifications in First Aid/AED/CPR and Tracheostomy, along with my expertise in martial arts, demonstrate my dedication to the well-being and safety of those in my care.
Never content with complacency, I am continuously expanding my knowledge through online classes at Yale, Stanford, and Emory, ensuring that I stay at the forefront of the latest research, practices, and methodologies. This commitment to ongoing learning allows me to adapt and effectively support individuals and families facing unique challenges.
Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I am a passionate advocate for survivors of domestic violence and families affected by special needs. I speak before groups, sharing my personal story and offering inspiration and guidance to those who have endured similar hardships. I am a relentless advocate, fighting tooth and nail to ensure that the rights and needs of these individuals are recognized and protected.
As an accomplished author, I utilize the power of words to raise awareness and foster understanding within society. Through my writing, I strive to shed light on the experiences, struggles, and triumphs of those with challenging abilities, promoting inclusiveness and compassion. My book, Who Kicked First, can be found on Amazon and other online bookstores.
My daughter and I have been featured on television and radio, utilizing this platform to amplify the voices of those who often go unheard. By sharing our story, we aim to break down barriers and eliminate stigmas surrounding special needs and domestic violence. Together, we work tirelessly to create a world that embraces diversity and supports the dreams and aspirations of every individual, regardless of their circumstances.
In all that I do, I have transformed into a "Pitbull" - a relentless advocate who fiercely fights for the rights and well-being of special needs families and survivors. Through unwavering determination, boundless compassion, and an unyielding spirit, I strive to bring positive change to the lives of those who need it most.
My journey is far from over, and I am committed to continuing my advocacy, education, and support for the special needs community. Together, let us create a society that values and embraces the strengths and abilities of every individual, empowering them to overcome any obstacle and thrive.
For two years now, I have hosted, produced, and directed not one but three podcasts that have remained in the top 1%. I would love to share your light and strength for others to use as they also heal.
With love, determination, and unwavering hope,
