Westworld Season 2: What We Know & What’s to Come

The season 1 finale of Westworld was shockingly badass to say the very least, and while there were certain payoffs to various storylines that had been building throughout the first 10 episodes, it also raised a bunch of questions as to just where exactly the story will be heading in season 2. So, in anticipation of this weekend’s premiere episode on HBO, here’s a look at what we know so far about Westworld and what we’re hoping to see during this new season, which kicks off Sunday night at 9:00pm Est.

[Spoiler Warning: If you haven’t seen any of Westworld Season 1, the following does contain some spoilers, so you may want to catch up with the series first before reading on.]

Fresh Blood: While we haven’t seen them in action yet, Westworld expands its cast with six newcomers for season 2, including the always great Betty Gabriel, Jonathan Tucker, Fares Fares, Gustaf Skarsgård, Katja Herbers (The Leftovers), and Neil Jackson.

Interview: Angela Sarafyan on Clementine’s Journey in Westworld Season 2

One of my favorite characters in season 1 of Westworld was Clementine Pennyfeather (played by Angela Sarafyan), an android prostitute who works under the supervision of the park’s madam, Maeve (Thandie Newton), who ends up becoming self-aware, throwing the high-tech attraction into a state of chaos.

Season 2 of Westworld kicks off this Sunday, April 22nd at 9:00pm Est on HBO, and in advance of the premiere, Daily Dead attended a recent press day for the series, where we had the opportunity to speak with Sarafyan about the evolution of her character, whether or not we’ll see more of her relationship with Maeve explored in the new season, and more.

[Spoiler Warning: While nothing too in-depth about season 2 of Westworld is discussed below, some of this interview delves into the events of season 1. So, for those who haven’t watched it, consider this a warning that there might be some items below that could be considered spoilers.]

Westworld Creators Release That Season 2 Spoiler Video as Promised and it Was a Big Elaborate Rickroll!

Yesterday Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan said that he would release a video spoiling the entire plot of Westworld Season 2 if his strange and unconventional idea got 1000 upvotes. Well, it got those votes and as promised he released a video. The video was accompanied by the following note:

“All right guys. We left this in your hands. Some may feel this is a drastic step, but I, for one, love and trust this community.”

The video, which has a 25-minute length, starts out serious enough with Jeffrey Wright's Bernard waking up on a beach. There he's met by Luke Hemsworth’s character Ashley Stubbs, Westworld’s Head of Security. Bernard is then taken in by a brand-new character Karl Strand, the Delos Head of Security. Bernard is trying to remember how this all began. The whole thing looks like the opening of Season 2.

Then, all of a sudden actresses Angela Sarafyan
