Willy Calderon is an American record producer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer. Over a successful two-decade musical career, he rose to notoriety with his debut album, L.A. Impromptu, a prestigious all-star project which boasted the integration of over 30 of the world's most reputable musicians. His hit-single, "Stay With Me," from his award-nominated album, Project Neon: The Birth Of City Pop Salsa, was dubbed "the birth of city pop salsa" in Japan and Calderon is considered the creator of a new sub-genre of Latin and Japanese fusion called "City Pop Salsa" or "J-Pop Salsa." Calderon has toured 6 continents and has visited 62 countries collaborating with countless artists, some of which include: Carlos Vives, Guayacán Orquesta, Fruko y Sus Tesos, Tony Succar, Maelo Ruiz, Frankie Negron, Los Adolescentes, Piecework Japan (ex T-Square), Giovanni Hidalgo, Adonis Panter y Osain Del Monte, Alex Acuña, Luisito Quintero, Eddie Santiago, Luis Conte, Jermaine Jackson, Bruno Mars, Drake, Fonseca, Pastor López, and Silvestre Dangond. The artist has also collaborated on musical projects with movie stars Johnny Depp and Bill Pullman, and has appeared as musical talent on popular television shows like America's Got Talent, Jane the Virgin, and Bones, among others. He is a member of The Recording Academy GRAMMYS® and The Latin Recording Academy®. The artist is widely considered to be one the leading percussionists and producers of the new generation.
