‘Arrow’: Kirk Acevedo Upped To Series Regular For Season 7 On The CW
We’ll be seeing more of Ricardo Diaz on Arrow this season. Kirk Adevedo, who recurred last season as the drug kingpin and crime lord also known as Dragon, has been promoted to series regular for Season 7. It premieres October 15 on the CW.

A thorn in the side of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in S6, Diaz saw Team Arrow launch an attack on him during the season finale in May, only to escape. FBI agent Samandra Watson vows to haul him in, however.

The character has a publishing history with roots that date back more than 40 years. In 1975, DC Comics started publishing a series called Richard Dragon, Kung Fu Fighter, which featured a martial arts master who grew up as a thief but changed his ways. The series lasted a mere 18 issues. Jump forward to 2013, and a new fighter calling himself Dragon was introduced; he eventually was revealed to be

Review: Arrow the Complete Sixth Season

  • Comicmix
Although Arrow set the tone and allowed the CW to grow its own integrated television universe, the series itself has been a maddening, uneven affair that always seems to take three steps forward then backslide at least one.

In what could have been a final season, that unevenness was never more frustrating as the show whipsawed characters and situations into increasingly dumb configurations that annoyed rather than entertained.

You can revisit all the nonsense in Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season, out now on Blu-ray and Digital HD from Warner Home Entertainment.

Season Five ended with Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) finally comfortable with one another, ready to resume their romance. Everyone is manipulated or kidnapped to find themselves on Lian Yu as Adrian Chase John Segara), who is excessively over-prepared, blows it all to hell.

We open the new season with the aftermath, starting with the

‘Arrow’ Season 7 Trailer Reveals the Latest Threat to Star City

There have been a lot of shakeups in Arrowverse lately. As we wrote when Paul Blackthorne's exit from the show was announced, Willa Holland left the show as Thea absconded with Colton Haynes‘ Roy to destroy Lazarus Pits. Then Diggle (David Ramsey) said goodbye to being a member of Team Arrow. Next, Ep Marc Guggenheim admitted that he and his writers “miscalculated” how much viewers would care about the Newbies in their struggle against Oliver’s leadership, a storyline that dragged on for far too long. That same day, the …

Arrow Showrunner Teases Roy Harper’s Future

Though we each may have our differing opinions regarding how Arrow‘s sixth season turned out, it’s probably safe to say that many of us remain optimistic regarding what’s to come. A huge reason for this is that Colton Haynes is back on as a series regular beginning this fall, as he’ll reprise his role of Roy Harper.

Now, I’m sure there are those of you reading this who favor the likes of John Diggle, Black Canary, Wild Dog or somebody else, but there’s just something special about Roy. Maybe it’s because he’s essentially the Robin to the Green Arrow’s Batman, but the live action interpretation of Arsenal would’ve fallen flat if the wrong actor had landed the gig.

Obvious stuff aside, we’re all wondering what lies ahead for the returning hero, something new showrunner Beth Schwartz discussed with TV Guide

Legends of Tomorrow: Courtney Ford Upped to Series Regular for Season 4
Legends of Tomorrow is staying Darhk. The CW drama has promoted Courtney Ford, who in Season 3 recurred as Damien Darhk’s daughter Nora, to series regular for Season 4, our sister site Deadline reports.

After originally appearing as a child on Arrow, Nora resurfaced on Legends as a magic-wielding adult (played by Ford) and teamed up with her time-displaced, late dad to release the demon Mallus. In last April’s season ender, Damien sacrificed himself to save Nora, who escaped to Salvation with Ray Palmer (Ford’s real-life husband Brandon Routh).

Legends is fortifying its ranks, having also upped Matt Ryan

Arrow Ep Comments On Quentin Lance’s Death In The Season Finale

Whenever any actor exits a series, there’s the assumption their character will be killed off. In the case of Arrow, this practice held true for the likes of Colin Donnell, Susanna Thompson and – for, like, five minutes – Katie Cassidy, who soon came back as Black Siren, a doppelganger from a parallel universe.

Or, it’s entirely possible to leave the door open for fan favorites to return by leaving their onscreen counterparts alive. Manu Bennett, Colton Haynes and Willa Holland are all fine examples of this methodology, with Haynes actually set to return as a series regular for season 7, no less.

Most likely to the chagrin of a fair percentage of viewers, Paul Blackthorne’s Quentin Lance can now be filed under the former, as he bit the dust in last week’s season finale. In a recent interview, here’s what executive producer and outgoing co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim

Paul Blackthorne Teases His “Beautiful Exit” From Arrow

When any TV show lasts as long as Arrow has, it’s only expected that certain members of the principal cast leave at some point. For instance, even Michael Rosenbaum ducked out of Smallville after seven seasons, though he did reprise his role as Lex Luthor in the series finale.

Getting back to Arrow, it appears as though this particular show is going through a time of change. Already, we know to expect a new showrunner next season in the form of Beth Schwartz, with Willa Holland conversely making her exit from the series as Thea Queen.

Well, unfortunately, someone else who’s been around since the very beginning will also be headed for the door at the end of the current season, that being Paul Blackthorne. Having played Quentin Lance for six years, Blackthorne has been a constant, with his character enjoying his share of ups and downs with Oliver Queen.

Arrow loses another cast member as Paul Blackthorne exits show

It seems Willa Holland will not be the only Arrow star to leave the show come Season 7. Paul Blackthorne, who plays Quentin Lance, will not be returning for the new season according to Entertainment Weekly.

Blackthorne is one of Arrows‘ original cast members, first appearing as Detective Lance in the pilot. As the father to both Laurel and Sara Lance, he had a hatred for Oliver Queen, blaming him for Sara’s supposed death aboard their family yacht, the Queen’s Gambit, before becoming an ally to ‘The Hood’. Since then, he has gone through ebbs and flows of being an ally to Oliver and his team or an antagonist, hunting them down in Season 3 and reluctantly teaming with Damien Darhk in Season 4.

The current season of Arrow has seen Lance no longer a detective, but as Deputy Mayor of Star City working under Mayor Oliver Queen. The most recent

Blackthorne has played Quentin Lance, formerly a detective in the Starling City police department and now deputy mayor, since the show’s pilot back in 2012. The exact details of how his character will be written off the show are being kept under wraps.

Blackthorne becomes the latest longtime series regular to depart “Arrow.” Previously, Thea Queen actress Willa Holland announced her own exit from the show. But Colton Haynes is returning as a series regular, again playing the role of Roy Harper.

In mid-April, it was revealed that Beth Schwartz would take over as the sole showrunner of “Arrow.” Marc Guggenheim, one of the co-showrunners of the CW-dc series, will transition into the role of executive consultant on both “Arrow” and fellow DC show “Legends of Tomorrow.” Fellow co-showrunner Wendy Mericle will exit “Arrow
