Washington National Opera Wno today announced the date and partial casting for its 2018 Wno Gala, which takes place on Sunday, May 20 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. The annual Gala concert features a world-class cast starring Tony and Grammy Award-winning actor Patti LuPone Emmy-nominated singer and actor Tituss Burgess Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 30 Rock and stars from Wno's current season-mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard Rosina inThe Barber of Seville and soprano Kathryn Lewek Cunegonde in Candide-as well as members of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artists Program and other special guests to be announced at a later date. Renowned baritone Nathan Gunn will host and perform, alongside his wife, pianist Julie Gunn.

"Kennedy Center Honors" Airs Tuesday Night With Star-Studded Gala

Each year the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts selects individuals who will receive the Kennedy Center Honors of 2008. While the recipients received their honors on December 6, on Tuesday night, December 30, the show will air on CBS.

Distinguished Stars Recognized During "31st Annual Kennedy Center Honors"

Morgan Freeman, George Jones, Barbra Streisand, Twyla Tharp, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey were all honored Sunday night in Washington, D.C. at the "31st Annual Kennedy Center Honors." The show was hosted by Caroline Kennedy and will air later in the month.

Celebrity News Service is pleased for the six honorees, who were recognized for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts in dance, music, theater, opera, motion pictures and television.
