Disney announces live-action Kim Possible movie

Disney has announced that it is developing a live-action adaptation of its hit animated series Kim Possible, which is being produced as a Disney Channel Original Movie from a script by Emmy Award-winning creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley along with Josh Cagan (The Duff). On the Lot finalists Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky are set to direct and casting is now underway.

“Mark and Bob created an enduring character and kids all over the world found a friend in her, an average girl who just happens to spend her off-school hours thwarting evil villains,” said Adam Bonnett, executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide. “Although Kim Possible ‘can do anything,’ kids and tweens found that this animated redhead was just like them. As we embark on the fun challenge of making Kim and Ron fully dimensional, I’m thrilled to be working again with Mark

Kim Possible to get a live action movie

Kayti Burt Feb 8, 2018

Kim Possible is coming to the big screen, Disney has confirmed

The Disney Channel is developing a live-action film version of Kim Possible, the animated spy series that ran from 2002 to 2007 for 87 episodes. While the series has already had two Disney Channel animated films, this would be the first live-action film.

Kim Possible follows the life of a high school girl who fights crime alongside her sidekick Ron Stoppable and his naked mole-rat Rufus, as well as computer genius Wade. Christy Carlson-Romano, of Even Stevens fame, voiced the main character of Kim in the series. Hopefully, Carlson-Romano will be involved in the project in some way. Either way, this premise and tone has the potentialy to be a fun, kid-geared spy movie like we haven't had in a while.

According to Variety, the live-action Kim Possible movie has already begun casting, with series creators Mark McCorkle and

Kim Possible Is Getting A Live Action Film Via Disney Channel

Years after the conclusion of her cartoon, the Disney Channel is looking to make a live-action Kim Possible film. Casting is currently underway for the project, so no word on who will play Kim, her sidekick Ron Stoppable, or the computer mastermind Wade, but I'm sure those details will come sooner than later.

As for the film itself, the film is being written by the series creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley, as well as Josh Cagan. Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky will co-direct. Kim Possible has had animated films before, but this will be the first time a live-action version of the franchise will be created. I'm assuming if it's a hit there will be more, but my question is, are kids still going to care about Kim Possible?

The animated series has been off the air for more than a decade, but it remains beloved by many and Disney sees an opportunity to revive the character for a new generation. It looks like Kimberly Ann Possible is going to be back at it in a big way.

Creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley, whose other credits include Big Hero 6: The Series and The Penguins of Madagascar, are penning the screenplay for the live-action Kim Possible movie. They're also aboard the production team as executive producers. The Duff's Josh Cagan has been brought on board to help with scripting duties and will also be credited as an executive producer, along with Zanne Devine.

Booyah! A Live-Action Kim Possible Movie Is on the Way

With all the TV reboots coming down the pike in 2018, it was only a matter of time before beloved Disney Channel shows started getting the same treatment. Just like the recent revival of That's So Raven, Variety reports that Kim Possible is also being brought back, but with a fun twist. The animated series about a young high-school cheerleader who lives a double life as a spy saving the world from supervillains is being turned into a live-action movie! There's still no word on who will play the show's main characters - Kim, sidekick Ron Stoppable, computer genius Wade, or villains Dr. Drakken and Shego - but casting has begun. Hopefully they get Christy Carlson-Romano and Will Friedle (who voiced Kim and Ron, respectively) in there for a cameo and figure out some way to work Rufus into everything, even if it's live-action. Kim Possible premiered on the Disney Channel

‘Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later’ Review: New Netflix Season Is Better Than the Prequel

‘Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later’ Review: New Netflix Season Is Better Than the Prequel
In the year of our Lord 2017, The War of the Chrises ended. A long-gestating and confounding battle between movie stars with similar names, similar roles, and similar skin tones, came to a close. Chris Evans (the Captain in “Captain America”), Chris Hemsworth (the Thor in “Thor”), Chris Pratt (a guardian in “Guardians of the Galaxy”), and Chris Pine (the dude in “Wonder Woman”) laid down their super weapons and bowed down to the king.

You need not ask who won. You already know.

Let King Pine’s reign never end.

Now, before we get too much further into this review of “Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later,” it should be noted that King Pine isn’t a prominent figure in David Wain and Michael Showalter’s eight, cheery new episodes. King Pine is emblematic of what makes this Netflix original series better than the last, even though he’s

Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later Trailer Is Wacky And Hilarious

Wet Hot American Summer was a 2001 comedy from David Wain (Role Models, The State, Stella) set in 1981 and starring Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Michael Showalter, Marguerite Moreau, Paul Rudd, Zack Orth, Christoper Meloni, A.D. Miles, Molly Shannon, Ken Marino, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Jon H. Benjamin and Amy Poehler. If that sounds like an A-List cast, that's because many of the current stars in the group were not so famous or in demand at the time. The film focused on these counselors on the last day of camp at Camp Firewood, one of the jokes being that all the actors were playing well under their age range.

Then, fourteen years later in 2015, Netflix released a prequel in the form of a TV series, making the ages of the cast even more ridiculous, in typical Wain fashion. Joining the original, now star-studded cast in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp

‘Mulholland Drive’ Blu-ray Review

Stars: Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, Justin Theroux, Ann Miller | Written and Directed by David Lynch

Re-released to coincide with the new Twin Peaks series, it’s apt that Mulholland Drive was originally conceived as a TV pilot. Perhaps it’s for the best it ended up in (relatively) short form. The film, weighing in at 2.5 hours, is an epic mind-bender on its own terms, and there’s barely a wasted frame.

It begins with a car accident on Mulholland Drive. A woman, who will become known as Rita (Laura Harring), survives with a knock to the head. She stumbles away and hides in an empty house. The house belongs to Aunt Ruth, whose niece Betty (Naomi Watts) arrives the next day. She’s come to L.A. with the dream of an acting career. Rita and Betty become friends. But Rita can’t remember anything – not even her real name
