The first cut of Avengers: Endgame was actually shorter than the theatrical version

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors for Avengers: Endgame, reveal that the first cut was actually shorter than the final cut.

We know that the final theatrical cut of Avengers: Endgame is going to be over three hours long – a fact that many might consider a bit lengthy but with the excitement around the upcoming film, most will be willing to forgive.

During the editing process, it is usually the case that the first cut of the film is the longest version, which is then whittled down a little by the time it makes it to cinemas. This wasn’t the case with Endgame, however, as Joe Russo – co-director of the film – explained to Collider:

“We’ve been working on this movie for well over a year in editorial because we finished it in 2018, and it literally hasn’t moved maybe more than two minutes from its original run time on the director’s cut.

Avengers: Endgame directors reveal which Marvel movies to watch in preparation

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, have revealed which Marvel movies they recommend people watch in preparation for the film.

It isn’t long at all now until Avengers: Endgame kicks down the box office door for its April 25th release date. With just a couple of weeks left, you might be thinking there isn’t time to watch all the past McU films in preparation.

Well, Joe and Anthony Russo have helpfully revealed which McU films must be watched before seeing Endgame, and the good news is that there is only three of them. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Joe said:

Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War without question because the events of Civil War directly affected Infinity War, and we would argue that the reason they lost to Thanos is because of Civil War. Clearly, that carries over to Endgame. If you’re going

The Avengers: Endgame white suits are to help separate the film from Infinity War

Kevin Feige has revealed that the white suits seen in the trailers for Avengers: Endgame are being used in marketing to help differentiate the film from Infinity War.

With Avengers: Endgame nearly upon us, there are many questions fans still have about the movie, some stemming from the film’s trailers. One talking point has certainly been the white suits seen being worn by our heroes – something we haven’t seen before.

What’s this all about? Well, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has revealed the reason why these suits have been placed prominently in the film’s marketing in a recent interview with io9:

“We call them the team suits. And we early on decided [revealing them] was a big differentiating factor between [Endgame] and the other films. The Avengers have never had matching outfits before, [so] we thought it was a very intriguing image to see something that made this film feel new.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige discusses Avengers: Endgame’s bladder-bursting running time

Last week, co-director Joe Russo confirmed Avengers: Endgame is set to run for 3 hours and 58 seconds, and now Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has been chatting about the film’s running time, describing it as “the perfect length” for the story they want to tell.

“What I’ve always said is a movie is as long as it should be. And we are not fans of overindulging movies. We are not fans of laborious lengths for no reason. We are fans of movies that you wish didn’t end. Movies that you want to see again as soon as it’s over. And movies that you just don’t ever find a good time to run out to the bathroom.

“That’s when a movie’s working. If a movie doesn’t feel like that to us, we continue to trim, we continue to shape, we continue to bring that time down.

The next slate of McU films will be very “distinct” from the past

Kevin Feige has revealed that the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be very different from what has come before.

The McU, up until this point, has been a gargantuan effort and it’s all set to come to an end with the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. The franchise won’t end here but the future of the McU will be different from what’s come before.

This is according to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige who spoke to io9 about how the future slate of McU movies will not resemble how the franchise has looked in the past:

“The slate that we’re building over the next five years [is] not apples to apples. It is two very distinct things and I hope they’ll feel very distinct. But there is a similar mentality going into it, which is ‘How can we continue to tell stories with some

Avengers: Endgame directors say it will be the ending to one of the “grandest experiments in movie history”

Anthony and Joe Russo have said that Avengers: Endgame will be the ending to one of the “grandest experiments in movie history”.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has truly been a movie franchise like no other, changing cinema with is interconnecting movies and sub-franchises, all coming together at various stages for big event pictures.

The next big moment is, of course, Avengers: Endgame, seen as the culmination of all that has come before and the end of this chapter in the McU.
