Mini Bio (1)

Tony Nolet was born on June 19th, 1947 in Haarlem, west of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada at the age of ten, and spent much of his youth participating in sports such as volleyball, and tennis. He had always been fascinated by the outdoors, often going for week long camping trips and hiking expeditions. This love of nature would eventually lead him toward a life long career in photography.

At age 22, Tony enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and served as a photographic technician. It was during his tenure in the military that he met his wife to-be, Diane Manuge. The couple wed in January of 1973, and had their first child, Marlene, in April of 1979, followed a few short years later by a son, Jonathan, born May 1983.

Tony retired from military service in 1992, and built a home in Musquodoboit Harbour, a small fishing community in Nova Scotia. He has lived there to this day running his own business, Periwinkle Photography, and is an active member in the community.
