Dan David Higgins is one of Scotland's up and coming film composers whose list of film and television credits demonstrate his varied skills within the industry. He most recently wrote the music for a variety of independent films, including "Her Coloured cage" Directed by Benjamin Nimac, co-wrote the music for "Across the Border" Directed by Klaudia Dora Csikos alongside Ukrainian composer Myroslav Melymuk and "The Red Hand of Death", starring Allan John Munro & Kerryl Erskine, written by "Oliver Giggins and directed by Alan Ciechalski.
In addition, he wrote the music for "Flitter" and "The Life Coach" both directed by Grant Deans and both written by Award winning author RJ Ellory. for "Flitter", Dan recieved the Award for Best Musical Score at the '48 hour film project, Edinburgh 2023', while "The Life Coach" received a nomination for Best Musical Score at the '48 hour film project, Glasgow 2023'.
Upcoming releases include "Competent detective Squad", Directed by Terry Dray and "Night of the Red Moon" Starring Dorian Todd and "Compliance", Written by Anna Brehm.
Born in Glasgow to a musical family, Higgins went onwards to pursue a career in music at Riverside Music Complex , at the age of 21 he later graduated from the University of Wolverhampton, from which he studied performance industries and went on to specialize in Film scoring. He started his Composing career by writing music for private services, independent commissions and corporate videos. in 2022, he began connecting with local and upcoming film directors in Scotland, where he began to build his career as a composer for film and television.
