Sam Davis(III)

NYC-born Samuel David Davis graduated from the University of Southern
California and studied German at UCLA. His professional career started
at 20th Century Fox, before he came to Frankfurt, Germany, in 1992 to
write and direct his BBC/WDR documentary "Warum wir hier sind" ("Why
we're here"). He went on to become the head of the TV-Movie department
at RTL Television in Cologne (1993-1998), being responsible for the
development and production of approximately 100 TV-movie and
miniseries.
In 2010, together with Jan Mojto's Beta Film, he founded his production company Rowboat Film- und Fernsehproduktion in Cologne. The company's first TV-movie, ZDF/ORF co-production "Das Wunder von Kärnten" ("A Day for a Miracle") won him, amongst others, the International Emmy Award 2013 for "Best TV-Movie/Mini-Series".
