9 Marvel Comics Movies We Almost Got in the 90s

Marvel went bankrupt in the mid-90s. The Marvel Universe was broken apart in a myriad of licensing deals, with movie and TV rights to their biggest characters and supporting casts spread across different studios. We recently unearthed a fascinating report from Hollywood trade publication Variety, published in December 1992, which offered a look at Marvel's slate way before the blockbuster success of the Avengers, or even the X-Men. Here we'll take a look at 9 Marvel Movies We Almost Got in the '90s.

So let's break down where things stood with a bunch of Marvel properties in 1992...

'Daredevil': Charlie Cox Has Mixed Feelings About Matt's Finale Decision

'Daredevil': Charlie Cox Has Mixed Feelings About Matt's Finale Decision
[This story contains spoilers for season three of Daredevil on Netflix.]

Even by the dark and brooding standards of Marvel's Daredevil, Matt Murdock has had a rough few weeks. After the show's second season left him alienated from his friends and questioning his own mission, the team-up miniseriesThe Defenders ended with a building collapse that seemingly killed both Matt (Charlie Cox) and his great love, Elektra (Elodie Yung).

Season three picks up with Matt recuperating at a convent, presumed dead by the world, physically and spiritually wounded in ways that make recovery seem unlikely. The re-emergence of his nemesis Wilson Fisk ...

Is Elodie Yung Teasing A Return For Elektra In Daredevil Season 3?

Daredevil season 3 will see Matt Murdock more out of his depth than ever as he has to not only deal with his nemesis the Kingpin getting himself out of jail but also the birth of a new foe, Bullseye. It seems another figure from his past will also make a comeback, though, in the form of his morally-challenged ex-girlfriend Elektra.

A fan recently tweeted at actress Elodie Yung on Twitter with a message saying that they won’t get a pizza to watch Daredevil season 3 with unless Elektra returns. Yung then replied with a teasing comment, saying: “Let’s share this pizza and watch @Daredevil s3!”

That sounds like the star’s saying that fans can expect some more from Elektra in the new run, which is surprising news as the last time we saw her it looked like the Hand assassin had been killed for good. First appearing in

'Daredevil' Trailer Reveals Season 3 Premiere Date and Violent Return to Form

The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is about to rise again.

Netflix has announced an October 19 launch date for season three of Marvel's Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox as blind superhero and attorney Matt Murdock. Vincent D'Onofrio also stars as Wilson Fisk.

In the Marvel Netflix Universe, Murdock is presumed dead, apparently killed alongside longtime lover Elektra (Elodie Yung) at the end of the Defenders limited series. As a new trailer for Daredevil season three makes plainly clear, rumors of Matt's death have been greatly exaggerated.

"You can suffocate evil, starve it, lock it behind bars," Murdock ...

Daredevil: 20 Strangest Things About Elektra's Body

The red outfit. The slick, black hair. The knives. The way she takes you out before you even know she's there. These are just some of the reasons why Daredevil's Elektra is so captivating to fans. Ever since her appearance in 1981, she's been seen as one of the most engaging characters in Marvel, and maybe even of all time.

We all love a mystery, and Elektra is certainly that. She usually keeps herself at an arm's distance from everyone, even her greatest love, Matt Murdoch. She's had a traumatic life and has a job that certainly takes a deep emotional toll. Keeping all of this to herself protects her from demons that she fears will hurt those around her. In a lot of ways, she's like Catwoman, but far darker and even more complex.

She has most famously been played by Jennifer Garner in the highly disliked films Daredevil and Elektra.

‘Iron Fist’ Post-Credits Teaser Hints at an Even Darker ‘Daredevil’ Season 3

  • The Wrap
Matt Murdock is coming back to the vigilante game, but in “Daredevil” Season 3, he might be more anti-hero than superhero.

The Netflix Marvel TVverse is taking a page from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Iron Fist” Season 2, packing in a post-credits scene that reminds folks that, hey, Daredevil is still around. The scene finds Daredevil, bloody and seemingly injured, in a confessional booth, wearing his original black costume with the bandanna tied over his eyes. That’s what he wore when he first started beating up bad guys in Hell’s Kitchen, before getting the cool red Kevlar suit that made him a lot tougher to kill.

In the teaser, Murdock sounds like he’s not going to go easy on whatever criminals and enemies he has to face now that his big set of enemies, the evil immortal ninja crime organization known as the Hand, has been destroyed. From the sounds of things,
