A retired Army brat, Marie Rose was graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Arts degree in Theater from The University of Texas at El Paso and she is an alumna of the American Film Institute's renowned Directing Workshop for Women program. She has written, produced, and directed award-winning short films starring such talent as Dakota Fanning ("Father Xmas" is available on iTunes, Amazon Tribeca, ShortsTV). Marie studied improvisational comedy and sketch writing at The Groundlings Theater during the same period as SNL alumni Will Ferrell, Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan. Her improv studies at The Groundlings were interrupted when she won a year-long Walt Disney Studios Fellowship in Screenwriting for her first screenplay, "Divine Intervention," which was also a Nicholl Fellowship finalist in that year. In 2009, Marie competed and was selected for participation in the Producers Guild of America Diversity Workshop where she honed her producing skills under the expert guidance of seasoned film, television and reality producers and show runners.

A published children's author and proud member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Alliance of Women Directors, Screen Actors Guild, and IATSE Local 700 Story Analysts Guild, Marie has over sixteen years of professional story development experience as both a union story analyst and a private script consultant. She has made development contributions to such major motion pictures as "L.A. Confidential," "Poseidon," "Ransom," "Valentine's Day," "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," "The Game Plan," "The Proposal" and many more for studios and production companies including Walt Disney Studios, MGM/UA, The Disney Channel, Icon, New Regency Productions, Village Roadshow, John Wells, and Force Entertainment (Parent Stuber) at Universal Studios.

In 2012 Marie creatively developed and produced the feature film, "It's Not You, It's Me" with writer and director, Nathan Ives (Mule Films), to be released in 2013 and starring Ross McCall, Joelle Carter, Vivca A. Fox, Beth Littleford, Maggie Wheeler, and Erick Avari. Currently, Marie is in pre-production to produce her award-winning comedy screenplay, "Frenching."
