Against the picturesque backdrop of Basel, 2024, we meet Maja Wedekind, an introverted yet brilliant student with a penchant for solitude and mystery. As a child, Maja discovered a unique talent - the ability to lucid dream with remarkable control and clarity.

Her choice to study shared dreaming, seems driven by a quest to uncover something within herself - much like psychology students drawn to their field for self-discovery.

Her fascination with dreams is both a legacy and a curse. Her mother, a surreal painter, had delved deeply into lucid dreaming to enhance her creative works, ultimately becoming consumed by it before her untimely departure.

But the real reason that drives her to study Oneironautics is to discover what happened to her father. He disappeared some months ago under strange circumstances while on an assignment from this very Academy. Since then, he appears in her lucid dreams. Sporadic encounters that ignite a mix of hope and agony. She's convinced he's still out there - alive.

Now, as she steps into the halls of Thierstein Academy, Maja enrolls in Oneironautics 1, a course that's more than just an academic pursuit for her. Among her peers, Maja adopts a facade, masquerading as the always well-composed and somewhat aloof student. She's known for cheekily referring to Thierstein Academy as the 'School of Snooze.' This persona she projects acts as a shield, cleverly concealing the true depth and urgency of her quest.

However, this course in dream architecture and shared lucid dreaming is far from a mere academic endeavor. It's a deep dive into the darkest corners of the mind. Maja, with her natural talent for navigating these nocturnal mazes, is about to uncover a chilling truth. As the layers of dreams unfold, she finds hints pointing to an unsettling revelation: her own professor at the academy may be behind her father's disappearance. In this labyrinth of subconscious exploration, some doors, once opened, can never be closed.

Frank Luchs (aka Frankie) is a multi award-winning producer and writer/director from Berlin, since 2008 residing in Switzerland. As a former music producer and composer, he produced artists like Kid Paul, Bernadette, and Sandra for Sony and Deutsche Grammophon. He also scored TV-shows and movies, for example, Germany's most-known crime-series "Tatort". He is the founder of Visiomedia, a corporation specialized in post-production software. Since 2012 the company has been extended to produce narrative live-action and animated films. He worked for the shorts "The Wireless Trap", "Soundness" and "Nasty Water" and the features "The Radicalization of Jeff Boyd" and "Scrap Girl". He is Showrunner on 'The Dreams of Others'.
