Anna Carrington, Director of Photography, climbed her way up the Camera
Department by working as a Clapper Loader and Focus Puller before
Operating and DOPing. She graduated from Surrey Institute of Art and
Design in 2002 with a 2:1 BA (hons) Film and Video Production. After
graduation Anna worked as a Camera Trainee and Clapper Loader and
worked on feature films such as 'Yes' Dir: Sally Potter DOP: Aleksei
Rodionov 2004 (daily clapper loader), 'Kidulthood' Dir: Menhai Huda
DOP: Brian Tufano BSC 2006 (daily camera trainee), 'London Voodoo' Dir:
Robert Pattern DOP: Patrick Jackson 2004 (clapper loader) and various
music videos and commercials including 'Eurostar for Tomorrow' and the
Michael Buble 'It's Time' album advert, until moving up to the role of
Focus Puller. Notable credits include feature film 'EMR' Dir:
McCullough & Erskine DOP: John Halliday 2004 (focus puller) and
television drama 'The Man That Broke Britain' Dir: Gabriel Range DOP:

Anna's Camera Operating credits include filming gigs by Stevie Hoang, Imogen Heap, Courtney Pine, Patti Smith, Steeleye Span, John Albert, La Roux, Paloma Faith, Maddie Prior, Spin Doctors, Winter Roberts, The Rushing, UB40 and Air. Documentary productions about Piere Dulaine, Heygate Estate, Sonia Sabri, Fulham Palace, Dave Courtney, Hayley Westenra. In 2006 Anna was selected by the organisation 'Women in Film and Television' to be mentored by DOP Henry Braham BSC during the production of feature film 'The Golden Compass.' The placement lasted a year, in which time Henry trained her in the Cinematographer's role during pre-production, production and post-production of the feature film as well as helping her experiment with her own cinematography. Anna gained her first credit as Director of Photography on the feature length documentary 'Welcome Aboard Toxic Airlines' in 2007. The film premiered at The International Film Festival of the Environment in Paris and sparked the call for a public enquiry into the areo-toxic issue in the UK.
In 2008 Anna worked as the Camera Operator on feature film '31 North 62 East' with DOP Sue Gibson BSC who, at the time, was the President of the British Society of Cinematographers. Anna then went onto work as the Director of Photography on her first drama feature film 'Ambleton Delight' which premiered at The Ritz Cinema in Worthing in 2009. The film did well in the festival circuit, racking up 6 award nominations, 6 official selections and winning three awards including 'Best UK Feature' at The End of the Pier International Film Festival and 'Best Feature Film' at The British Independent Film Festival. In 2009 Anna won the award for 'Best Director of Photography' at The End of the Pier International Film Festival for her work on short film 'The View' Dir: Neil Neenan. As a DOP Anna's advert credits include The Make-up Box 'Nvey', Lush 'Facial Spa', The Rocking Horse Appeal, Mayfair English School, and music videos for The Alps 'Obstacle Race' Operahouse 'Live Album Recording', Souledge 'Woman Needs Love', Inner City Pirates 'Duck Hunt', Frisco 'Time is right', Tinchy Stryder 'Breathe', Furyon 'The One', Blazay 'I'm That Guy'.
