Gino Strada (1948–2021)

Gino Strada was born on April 21, 1948 in Sesto San Giovanni, Lombardy, Italy as Luigi Strada. He is known for his work on Beyond the Beach: The Hell and the Hope (2021), 60 Minutes (1968) and Their Italy (2012). He was married to Simonetta Gola and Teresa Sarti. He was a co-founder of Emergency, a humanitarian organization which brings medical care to impoverished, war-torn areas around the world. It has built hospitals, surgical centers, and maternity and pediatric wards in Cambodia, Serbia, Eritrea, Nicaragua and Sri Lanka, among other countries.
