Pazhoohan Parastar is an Iranian independent director and producer. He started his filmmaking career in 2014 with a short film called "Positive" while he was studying architecture. Pazhoohan obtained his first international award in 2019 for directing the film "Alone" about the challenging life of a boy in a wheelchair going on a date in Tehran. In the following years he received other awards for the films "Trigger" and "Scar" which relatively touch on covid-19 and domestic violence issues. His minimal and non-verbal approach to filmmaking makes his art more engage-able to the point that any international audience or even deaf people could easily understand and interpret his work. Pazhoohan's last project "Hands" is a short film series, which aims to explore today's social concerns.
