Runaways Season 2: What to Expect

Andrew Husband Oct 18, 2018

The cast of Runaways is eager for more action, and it sounds like they'll be living it in Season 2.

It wasn’t until the very end of Runaways Season 1 that Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz), Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano), Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner), Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer), Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin) and Molly Hernandez (Allegra Acosta) made good on the show's title.

Before that pivotal moment, when these disparate teenagers discovered that their villainous parents had framed them for murder, series co-creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage had spent most of the season’s time laying the groundwork for the group’s eventual escape. It’s a common method showrunners will use to adapt comic books for television (see the first season of AMC’s Preacher), and while it may tax the patience of some viewers, it often pays off in the long run.

Hence Runaways Season 2, which premieres Friday,

We have some vague (but exciting) details on what the next phase of the Star Trek TV universe will look like.

The Star Trek TV universe has endured a lot of behind-the-scenes shuffling over the last few years, but two people have been left standing in the rubble: Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin. The two executive producers of Star Trek: Discovery are spearheading the planned expansion of the Star Trek TV universe, and TrekMovie had a lengthy interview with the two about what to expect from the next phases of that expansion.

"You’ll be hearing a lot about it very soon," Kurtzman teased as New York Comic Con, regarding the expansion of the Star Trek TV universe, implying that announcements are on the horizon.

What do we know so far? Well, in addition to Star Trek: Discovery and the Short Treks that will come out monthly

It’s been six years since “Gossip Girl” went off the air, but Kristen Bell, who narrated the show, can still do her perfect Gossip Girl voice.

During her appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on Wednesday, the host told the actress that he feels Donald Trump’s tweets often sound “gossipy,” so he asked Bell to read some of his tweets in her famous Gossip Girl voice.

A Nancy Drew Series Is Being Developed At The CW

Television is trying once again to create a Nancy Drew series, and this time it's The CW taking a shot at the popular character. The network is developing a project alongside famed producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who are known for Marvel's Runaways, Gossip Girl, and The O.C..

Past incarnations of this television adaptation have featured the character being aged up to her 30s, although it's being said by Deadline this one will put the character back to around 18 years old. It makes sense, considering Schwartz and Savage have found great success in creating teenage dramas, and people tend to respond well to stuff that's closer to the original.

The script is being written by The Magicians Noga Landau and will find Nancy kept from leaving town for college in order to investigate a murder with far deeper secrets than she could've ever imagined.

We'll see if this

Patrick Stewart to Return as Capt. Picard in New ‘Star Trek’ Series for CBS All Access

Patrick Stewart to Return as Capt. Picard in New ‘Star Trek’ Series for CBS All Access
Sir Patrick Stewart will reprise the role of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in a brand new “Star Trek” series on CBS All Access, Variety has learned.

The exact plot details are being kept mostly under wraps, though the series is said to tell the story of the next chapter of Picard’s life. That indicates that it will take place after the events of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” rather than being a prequel or reboot.

The untitled series hails from Alex Kurtzman, James Duff, Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, and Kirsten Beyer. Kurtzman, Duff, Goldsman, and Chabon will also serve as executive producers on the series along with Stewart, Trevor Roth, Heather Kadin, and Rod Roddenberry. CBS Television Studios will produce. The new series does not currently have a premiere date.

“I will always be very proud to have been a part of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation,’ but when we
