Sylvester Stallone Locked In For The Expendables 4; Action Sequel Set For Early 2019

Action movie veteran Sylvester Stallone is gearing up for a huge 12 months.

As we learned back in April, the former Rocky star has agreed to headline Rambo 5, which is currently targeting a theatrical release this September. And as if that wasn’t enough nostalgia for you, Deadline brings word today that Sylvester Stallone is officially locked in for The Expendables 4 ahead of its own launch early next year.

Stallone has been linked with the action sequel for months – if not years – though the actor’s alleged fallout with Nu Image/Millennium chairman Avi Lerner cast doubt over a possible fourth appearance from the cigar-chomping Barney Ross. But even if there were traces of bad blood, it seems all is well in The Expendables camp. Which is just as well, considering filming on the star-studded blockbuster is expected to kick off this summer in Bulgaria.

Movie Review – The Hurricane Heist (2018)

The Hurricane Heist, 2018.

Directed by Rob Cohen.

Starring Maggie Grace, Toby Kebbell, Ryan Kwanten, Ralph Ineson, Randy Couture, Melissa Bolona, and Jamie Andrew Cutler.

Synopsis:

Thieves attempt a massive heist against the U.S. Treasury as a Category 5 hurricane approaches one of its Mint facilities.

The Hurricane Heist is only a film through technicality. It’s a series of narrative images that when placed next to one another create an illusion of movement. It’s a film much in the same way Geostorm is a film, or Independence Day: Resurgence. For the sake of this review, it is a film, it isn’t, but for the sake of semantics, it is.

Certain “films” have a pre-destined end point: bargain bins in your local Tesco, the untouched shelves of DVDs that litter Poundland, stuffed between a D-list celebrity’s workout and a Steven Seagal euro-action flick. The Hurricane Heist, Sky Movies further misjudged foray into original programming,

The Expendables 4 will shoot in the summer

Back in January it was reported that Sylvester Stallone had sorted out his creative differences with Millennium FilmsAvi Lerner, and was now back on board for a fourth instalment in the Expendables franchise.

Well, it seems that is indeed the case, as Stallone’s co-star Randy Couture has confirmed to The Arnold Fans that filming on The Expendables 4 is slated to get underway in the summer, presumably once Sly finishes up with Creed 2.

“I’m excited about Expendables 4,” said the former Mma star. “Right now, we’re scheduled to start filming in August and hopefully we’re able to stay on schedule. It sounds like we’re coming back to Bulgaria, which is exciting. I’ve spend a lot of time in Sofia and Varna and I’m excited to come back. I love the people (there), I love the food and I’m excited to come back.

The Expendables 4 set for summer shoot

The gang is getting back together, as The Expendables 4 gets ready to film this summer...

The gang is getting back together after all, as the fourth film in The Expendables series looks like it’s happening after all. Previously both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone had ruled themselves out for a fourth film – a surprise, given that Stallone conceived the series, directing the first and co-scripting the others – but Stallone at least looks like he’s back in.

Randy Couture definitely is, too. He’s been chatting to The Arnold Fans about the movie, and confirmed that “I’m excited about Expendables 4”.

“Right now, we’re scheduled to start filming in August and hopefully we’re able to stay on schedule. It sounds like we’re coming back to Bulgaria, which is exciting. I’ve spend a lot of time in Sofia and Varna and I

Randy Couture Says The Expendables 4 Is Gearing Up For A Summer Shoot

Not to be outdone by Tim Miller’s redo of The Terminator, it’s looking increasingly likely that The Expendables 4 is gearing up for a summer shoot in Bulgaria.

At least, that’s according to Toll Road himself, Randy Couture, who told The Arnold Fans (h/t Screen Rant) that filming is due to commence in August – assuming Sylvester Stallone and his army of old-school action heroes can stick to the current schedule.

A late summer start date would surely place The Expendables 4 on course for a release late next year; however, as screenwriter Gregory Poirier is currently the only creative person attached to the balls-to-the-walls action sequel – that we know of, mind you – there’s still a lot of things that need to be ironed out before Stallone’s rumored follow-up can get off the ground.

Expendables 4 Begins Shooting This Summer

If all goes well, it looks like The Expendables 4 will begin filming this summer. That may be a big if, considering the hurdles this movie has had to overcome in order to even be happening at all, but as of right now, that seems to be the plan. The news comes from franchise star Randy Couture, who reveals that Expendables 4 is currently scheduled to begin filming in August.

Randy Couture has been part of The Expendables franchise from the very beginning and it looks like he's getting back together with Sylvester Stallone and the gang for the upcoming fourth installment. Stallone ran into disagreements with producer Avi Lerner about the direction of Expendables 4 last year, which led to the project being delayed. However, it appears to be back on track and Couture is excited about the prospect. Here's what he had to say about it in a recent interview.

"Just when you thought it was safe to go outside…They’re coming back!"

We haven't really heard anything about this film project since it was announced a year ago that the movie would be coming out in 2018. Before that, it was supposed to be released in 2017, so the movie seems to keep getting pushed back.

Stallone first started talking about the film project about three years ago. Since then, we've heard that Hulk Hogan was in talks to play the villain and that Stallone is looking to give fans something completely different. When talking about that, Stallone said:
