“How did I forget how annoying you are?” asks Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) in the trailer for BBC America’s “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.” It’s a familiar feeling for viewers reentering the world Max Landis adapted from Douglas Adams’ source material because just as with last year, this season is not content to unspool a story quietly, logically, or with any sort of restraint.
The overstuffed episode checks back in with eight returning characters (yes, we’re also counting Rowdy 3 member Vogel and the dog Rapunzel), and introduces at least eight more. Despite that surfeit of players, we have yet to even meet Alan Tudyk, who joins this year as the gun-happy Mr. Priest.

"Brand-new case, still no clue. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency returns October 14th at 9/8c, only on BBC America.
Every season is a dizzying, smart, dangerous, unexpected and (for us, not the people involved) fun adventure that explores a different genre. Season one was about time travel with body-swapping, and this season involves an injection of fantasy. The vast dangers lurking in the fantasy realm navigate a path to Earth, becoming a threat in reality,
The Season 2 trailer, which BBC America released on Wednesday, reveals that Dirk (Samuel Barnett) and his pal Todd (Elijah Wood) will be reunited by the law. Meanwhile, Todd’s sister Amanda (Hannah Marks) appears to have figured out how things are connecting also. And it’s very quick, but we’re happy to see the corgi has returned as well as Bart (Fiona Dourif) looking a little bit sooty and the newly bearded Ken (Mpho Koaho). There’s also a prince with pink hair.

Since 2007 nerds all over the world have been rejoicing over the sitcom hilarity that is The Big Bang Theory. I used to think that the show was a major exaggeration, but as I've gotten older I've come to realize that there are in fact people out there who have Sheldon Cooper tendencies. You know those people who just can't help but correct someone about something that is completely arbitrary? Those people who simply can't go through a conversation without turning it into a lecture? Those people who are so insanely neurotic that it's comical? They make life interesting, and I'd like to thank them for that.
But even though the show is a major commercial success, the stuff that has happened behind the scenes aren't so colorful. Check it out.
How did you go about taking something like Dirk, [from] Douglas Adams, which to me feels quintessentially British, and then making it something that will work on BBC America and all around the world?
Robert Cooper: Most of the directors of season 2 are British—all are from the UK but one. There's a sensibility to the show, and I think that's to a certain extent what gives the show a little bit of a bend to it,
Here’s the official character descriptions:

Alan Tudyk (Rogue One, Firefly, Serenity, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Maze Runner, Death at a Funeral, DodgeBall) will play Mr. Priest; a ruthless, dangerous, and violent bounty hunter working for Blackwing.
Amanda Walsh (Curb of Enthusiasm, Ghost of Girlfriends Past, Lost Girls, Sons and Daughters, Disturbia) will play Suzie Boreton; an unassuming,

Alan Tudyk, John Hannah and Amanda Walsh have joined Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency season 2...
With plenty of genre fare appearing across many networks, fans of sci-fi and supernatural stories have lots to choose from. But Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency on BBC America is inarguably unique with its universe centered around the power of coincidence. The quirky show has hit a chord with its audience and its host network as it was announced - back in November - that it will return for a second season.

Today, we've got some new cast info: Alan Tudyk, following the cancellation of Powerless and the huge success of Rogue One, will join the Dirk Gently cast. He'll play a character named Mr. Priest, who's been described by THR as "a ruthless,
Zoie Palmer: Gosh, that’s a – it feels like a big question, because there’s you know as we come to the end, it feels like there’s so much. Everything comes rushing back to me you know. I think – well, no you know it was such a team, of both the characters and the cast you know. And I think there’s something about that that sticks with me you know having had a little bit of time away from the actual filming of it now. It’s just like the dynamic of the team, of everybody, and how those characters sort of interacted and moved through the five seasons

If you notice from the credits, “Mercy” is a feature length film that is based on a short story from the modern day master of horror himself, Stephen King. In my humble opinion, I don’t think that Stephen King is one of those guys who you either love or hate. Regardless, of whether you judge him exclusively within the horror genre or when films based on his work crossed out of horror, such as “The Green Mile”. There is something from Stephen King for everyone, and at least one of the many things he wrote that resonates

6. Origins of "Bazinga" (Hint: It involves a grapefruit!)
Sheldon's trademark catchphrase originated with show writer Stephen Engel who would set up a recurring practical joke that involved taping a hallowed out grapefruit back together. "I'd open it up and [he] would say 'Bazinga," exexcutive producer Bill Prady recalled. "It was Stephen's word for gotcha." It caught on so much that not only did they put it in the show but Bazinga has officially been dubbed a species of bee.
