Before becoming a director, Carsten Meyer-Grohbrügge worked as an assistant for the french film producer François Duplat, where he was involved with the international movie productions "The Unusual Suspects" (dir.: Bryan Singer; 1995) and "La Reine Margot" (or: "Queen Margot"; dir.: Patrice Chéreau; 1994). During that time, he produced his own two short films and attended multiple classes in scene study at the "Beverly Hills Playhouse" with Milton Kastelas in Los Angeles. Since 1999, he is working as a Director for German TV-Shows, such as "In aller Freundschaft" (ARD, MDR), "Watzmann Ermittelt" (ARD, BR), "Sturm der Liebe" (ARD), "Monaco 110" (BR), "Familie Dr Kleist" (MDR), "Die Rosenheim-Cops" (ZDF) and "Hinter Gittern" (RTL).
