Lorena R. Valencia is an Emmy-winning New York-based Mexican writer-director, producer, and the founder of Lakhesis Films. Her work has been screened at several international film festivals, including the Morelia International Film Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, the Hola Mexico Film Festival, the New York Latino Film Festival, and the NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Film Festival. Lorena's films have received multiple awards, including the National Board of Review Student Award, the Best Short Film Award at the 16 Days 16 Films Film Festival, and an Honorable Mention at the Highland Park Independent Film Festival. She addresses issues such as reproductive rights, identity, and power dynamics through both documentary and fiction storytelling.
