Blindspot Renewed for (Final) Season 5

Blindspot Renewed for (Final) Season 5
Much like Jane Doe’s tattoos, Blindspot isn’t going anywhere: The NBC drama has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

NBC isn’t confirming an episode count, but we’re hearing the final season will be abbreviated (i.e. 13 episodes or less).

The news of Blindspot‘s pickup might give fans a bit of whiplash, seeing as the show was recently pulled from NBC’s schedule for the duration of May Sweeps. It has temporarily been replaced in the Fridays-at-8 time slot by The Blacklist, but it will resume with the antepenultimate Season 4 episode on Friday, May

‘Blindspot’ Renewed For Fifth & Final Season By NBC
Blindspot lives again! After another spring on the bubble, the mystery drama starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander has been renewed for a fifth and final season by NBC. The pickup comes despite NBC’s recent decision to bench Blindspot for the May sweep.

Blindspot was a big breakout hit when it launched in fall 2015 behind The Voice on Monday. Its ratings took a hit once the series was moved to Wednesdays in Season 2 and further declined when it was relocated to Fridays at the start of Season 3.

While not a strong linear performer, Blindspot has done Ok in delayed viewing and has an established fan base. With a significant DVR bump, the series is averaging a 0.9 among adults 18-49 in most current rating and 4.9 million viewers.

Additionally, Blindspot has been a strong seller and profit generator for producer Warner Bros TV internationally, including a lucrative deal with Netflix. For that reason,

‘Blindspot’ Renewed for Fifth and Final Season at NBC

  • Variety
NBC has ordered a fifth and final season of “Blindspot.”

The series stars Jaimie Alexander as a woman who initially crawled out of a duffel bag in the middle of New York City, completely naked except for the tattoos that covered almost every inch of her body. The tattoos were codes, and she worked with the FBI to uncover secrets and attempt to prevent crimes. As the seasons have gone on, the web of conspiracy has gotten more complicated, both due to the truth about the group that used her as a human treasure map, as well as the ever-increasing personal connections the team made with her and each other.

In addition to Alexander, the “Blindspot” cast includes Sullivan Stapleton, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer.

Created by Martin Gero who serves as executive producer, the show is also executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter,

'Blindspot' Renewed for Fifth and Final Season at NBC

One of the last veteran series still in limbo at NBC landed on the right side of the bubble.

The network has renewed drama Blindspot for a fifth and final season in 2019-20. The Martin Gero-created puzzle drama's fate was in doubt recently as its ratings have declined this season and it was pulled from NBC's schedule during May sweeps.

Blindspot's ratings have declined significantly in its fourth season, falling by about 25 percent in adults 18-49, where it currently averages a 0.9 rating with a week of delayed viewing. It's also one of just a ...

Blindspot Season 5 Confirmed by NBC, Set as Final Season

Joseph Baxter May 13, 2019

NBC’s formerly-thriving thriller, Blindspot, lands a fifth and final season at NBC.

Blindspot, NBC's inventive crime drama, appeared to be on the verge of solving its last tattoo case. – At least, that’s what the network's recent move of pulling the show from its schedule signalled. However, in a surprising development, NBC has ordered a fifth season of Blindspot, which will serve as its last.

While NBC's confirmed renewal of Blindspot Season 5 did not come with confirmation of its number of episodes, the belief amongst the trades is that the final season will manifest with 13 or less episodes. While the move means that Blindspot is officially on borrowed time, it is, nevertheless a miraculous renewal, given the show's recent travails. As creator Martin Gero lauds of the pickup in an Instagram post, along with a teaser trailer for the final season:

“We’re in this together.

‘The 4400’ & ‘The L.A. Complex’ Reboots And ‘Good Christian Bitches’ Rolled To Next Season At the CW

  • Deadline
Exclusive: The CW has officially wrapped its 2019 pilot pickups with six orders, and three high-profile projects, The 4400, The L.A. Complex and Good Christian Bitches, were not among those getting a green light but neither is dead. All three have been rolled to next season, which is something the CW President Mark Pedowitz does with IP he believes in.

In 2017, there also were two big-title projects that did not make the cut to pilot, Charmed and The Lost Boys. Both were rolled and subsequently made it to pilot — Charmed did it last season, when it was picked up to series and was recently renewed for a second season. It took another year, but The Lost Boys too nabbed a pilot order last month.

The reasons for The 4400, The L.A. Complex and Good Christian Bitches being rolled vary from project to project.

For The 4400, the script could

Kumail Nanjiani Reunites with The Big Sick Director for The Lovebirds

Kumail Nanjiani Reunites with The Big Sick Director for The Lovebirds
Kumail Nanjiani is teaming up with Issa Rae for a new romantic comedy called The Lovebirds. The best part? The project will see Nanjiani re-team with Michael Showalter, whom we worked with previously on The Big Sick and, as these things go, that turned out quite well. Showalter will once again be in the director's chair for their latest collaboration. Paramount Pictures is behind this new comedy and it seems as though they're quite excited about what they've got, as it's reportedly being put on the fast track. So, with any luck, we'll see this in theaters sooner rather than later.

According to a new report, The Lovebirds is set to begin filming at the end of January, meaning it should have cameras rolling in just a couple of weeks at the latest. The script comes from Aaron Abrams. Brendan Gall and Martin Gero, who is also on board to produce alongside Tom Lassally,
