Coming from a Metis and Scottish background, Dane was raised in the rural west of Canada within a family heavy into the rodeo lifestyle. After a few years in the trades industry, he found his way to Vancouver at 20 to pursue a career in the film industry. Attending the Art Institute of Vancouver, he discovered quickly a passion for 3D sculpting and concept and design.
With some time in the games industry, he eventually broke into the competitive field of creature modeling for VFX at Industrial Light and Magic. Being fortunate enough to have creative works in such big titles as Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2Ol5), Warcraft (2Ol6), Thor: Ragnarok (2Ol7), Aladdin (2Ol9), and much much more. He continues to follow his passions while still at ILM, and always seems to have more projects on the go. Ever following his urge to create, explore, and make new worlds.
