Qasim Khan(I)

Qasim is a Dora Award nominated actor who is best known for his work in Canadian theatre. Most recently, he spent five years playing major roles at the Stratford Festival including: Charlie in The Miser (opposite Colm Feore), Adam in Paradise Lost, Atreyu in The Neverending Story, and Antipholus of Ephesus in The Comedy of Errors. Other theatre highlights include: Richard III, Henry VIII, Timon of Athens, The Changeling, The Crucible, The Madwoman of Chaillot (Stratford Festival); Paradise Lost (Centaur Theatre); All's Well That Ends Well, Hamlet, Das Ding (Canadian Stage); Anne of Green Gables: The Musical, Alice Through The Looking-Glass (Charlottetown Festival); A Craigslist Cantata (Musical Stage Company); The Royal Comedians, The Crucible, Dirt, Letters from the Great War, Alligator Pie (Soulpepper); Shannon 10:40 (Videofag); Acha Bacha (Buddies in Bad Times/TPM); and Beneath the Banyan Tree (Theatre Direct).

His film and TV work includes roles on: The Riftworld Chronicles, Saving Hope, Nikita, Dan For Mayor, Little Mosque, and the recent Disney feature Sneakerella. He appears in the Stratford films of Richard III, The Miser, Timon of Athens, and Henry VIII, and hosted The Early Modern Cooking Show. His voice can be heard on Blues Clues and You, Stillwater School for Mosquitos, The Hooves Belonged To The Deer, and Feedback.

Qasim trained at the Soulpepper Academy, University of Toronto, Sheridan College, and was an International Actor Fellow at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. His work has been recognized with nominations and wins for Dora, MyTheatre, and BroadwayWorld Awards, and he was awarded the John Hirsch Memorial Award and Richard Monette Awards at the Stratford Festival.
