Cyan Shreve is a student TV/Film writer and director based in Detroit, MI and Washington DC. She is a member of the Howard University Film Organization.
Inspired by her father, she has been passionate about filmmaking since the age of 10. During her junior year of high school, she filmed and edited videos for C2 Pipeline, a STEM program for high school students. These experiences have shaped how she approaches filmmaking and has led to the creation of several films during her high school career including, "Dream Big" (2019) - a short documentary filmed abroad about an organization that seeks to improve the elementary school system in the Dominican Republic, and "Reflection" (2018) - a short experimental film about overcoming toxic relationships.
During her freshman year of college, she worked as a production assistant at IDR Creative Productions for the Emmy-nominated "African Democracy Project" documentary and as a production intern at One Story Up on several projects, including "One Story Up" and the HBO Special "Between the World And Me." In the summer of 2021, she worked as a production assistant at Full View Productions on several commercials. As of August 2021, she is working at My Bella Images as a script writing intern.
"Side Effects" (2021) is her first short narrative and the first film she has created in college.
