Tamae Garateguy is one of the most recognized genre film directors in South America. Her oeuvre is as prolific as it is singular. She has seven solo feature films and three more co-directed films: two comedies and one slasher. Tamae discovers her taste for genre cinema with Pompeya, her violent debut, which wins the best Argentine film at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival 2010 and the Free Spirit Award at the Warsaw International Festival Poland 2011. Pompeya tours festivals such as Toronto, Bifan, Rio Film Festival and SXSW. Hes second film Mujer Lobo, passes through Mórbido Film Festival, Havana, Fantastic Fest, Fantaspoa, Bifan, and Bafici. She releases two films in 2018: her first documentary called 50 Chuseok, filmed in South Korea thanks to the support of the Seoul Film Commission and Until you untie me, both premiered at different Festivals. Meanwhile she is in the post-production and ready to launch of three movies. Las Furias, South American Western, winner of four post-production awards in Guadalajara and Construye in March 2019, 10 Palomas, a police genre film shooted in Buenos Aires during February 2019, produced by Tedigoque productions and El Amarre, an horror film, shooted in Mexico during March 2019 and produced by Lemon Studios. Tamae is currently developing her next film Hombre Perro, which won the Creative Excellence award for best project at the Macao China International Film Festival in December 2018 also produced by Silvia Rodriguez of Tedigoque producciones.
