Sabina Murray was born in 1968. She is a writer, known for The Beautiful Country (2004) and 2006 Independent Spirit Awards (2006).

Is of Filipino descent.
Attended Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.
Wrote her first novel Slow Burn, which was set in Manila, while still in college.
Grew up in Perth, Western Australia
Won the Pen/Faulkner Award in 2002 for The Caprices, a collection of short stories based on Pacific Campaign of World War II
Teaches creative writing at Umass Amherst
Worked with Terrence Malick on the screenplay for Beautiful Country
