An easy-going and hands-on film composer, Kory Hilpmann graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2017 with a BA in music and a minor in communications focusing on performance and composition for media. He is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter under his own name. After teaching himself piano and guitar at a young age, before receiving any classical training, Kory now performs, composes, and teaches music to a wide range of students. His passion for writing and creating continues to grow stronger with every project he completes.
His first film, Beanstalk (2020), a short animated film adaptation of Jack and The Beanstalk folklore, was accepted into two film festivals and received a Director's Choice award for the 46th annual New Jersey Young Filmmakers' Festival (2020). This was Kory's first original orchestral score for a film and his first time co-directing and co-writing a short film. Beanstalk will premiere in festivals in the Fall of 2020 and going into 2021. His second original score, for the film Pentecostal Activity (2020), is his second stab at a horror short film score. The film may be submitted to future film festivals and is available for free on his website.
