Mert Uzunmehmet is a Turkish Director, Screenwriter and Film Producer. He is known for his unique school and original narrative language. He was born on January 9, 1997, in Zonguldak. Uzunmehmet, who started his career with acting, won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Eastern European International Film Awards for his role in the short film The Prism (2020). After a short acting career, he changed his major and specialized in directing. Uzunmehmet appeared before the audience for the first time with his career as a director through the 6-part internet series DEFA (2021), which he wrote and directed himself. After the DEFA (2021) project, which was released on Amazon Prime and became a high success in many countries, especially in the USA, Uzunmehmet became known in Turkish cinemas thanks to the box office success of Hüddam's Soyu (2022), his first feature film written and directed by himself, and the narrative language of the film. A feature film titled YUDI (2022), in which Uzunmehmet sat in the director's chair and was released in cinemas in the same year, also showed success above the director's first film. Uzunmehmet, who has created his own unique cinematic and narrative language, is expected to release a motion picture called ZUHUR (2023), the screenplay of which is his own and which he has undertaken to direct.
